  1. well, no its not a classic, just a bit old
  2. im having no joy finding affordable insurance for my new (old) car, just got a 1996 ford probe 2.0, im 21 but getting quoted daft prices around £2K!, for my 1600 cortina it was only £371, and a little bit more if i stuck a 3.0 essex engine in it! so why is the probe that damn expensive for me.
  3. i saw this a lot on cars ive serviced, i wouldnt worry as its fairly common.
  4. thats been on ebay forever constantly, think the buy it now price is like 24K. guess its a bit much
  5. anything is possible, so theoretically you can put any engine in, ive seen a few duratec conversions so yes it has been done before.
  6. well apart from the obvious alarms you can get, you could go the route of making the door locks non functional and have solenoid opening doors like modern cars. quick release steering wheels, polycarb windows, garage it!!! sell the bikes
  7. id love to get hold of one of those.
  8. ive got a clarke 100E so basically the same as what you have, ive only ever used it gasless and its done me fine for many years. sure the welds arent as pretty as when ive used gas, but 9 times out of 10 youll never see them.
  9. you selling that spoiler? think i might like one for my cortina.
  10. well i think with the situation that you are in, anything is worth a try, whats the price for 1 can to try out? cant be more than a fiver for an aerosol can.
  11. id just suggest matt black, thats what mine is.
  12. well, if anyone wih half a mind got hold of it, it could be made to look really nice, you know with some half becent big truck wheels and tyres, and less of the capri shell just plonked on the landy chassis with all the outriggers just left and not cleaned up.
  13. a pipe flaring tool is a worthwile investment, always handy, and theyre only around £10 and come with loads of fittings for different flares
  14. whats in the garage behind it in the 1st pic on page 1 is it a granada?
  15. its a nice probe as well , dvla are a bunch of gits, anyone noticed every single advertisement from them is a calm threat.
  16. it takes about 1 500ml can to spray an area the size of a door, so work it out from there. for a mk3 cortina it took me about 10 cans of matt black.however to get a good finish with gloss colours it takes more coats so you may end up looking at about 20 cans.
  17. do you get good prices on cortina panels then? i may be after some for my mk3 if you sell on that sort of thing.
  18. i fitted a leccy pump onto my standard 1600 xflow (along with regulator and blanking plate, switch etc) the whole lot cost me no more than £40 and it really was a worthwile investment, mainly because it ran terrible or even not at all sometimes so i think the mechanical pump was on its way out. another advantage is that you know its pumping gas as you can hear it going, and its solid state so will last a very long time compared to mechanical pumps. in fact it was so good i bought myself another one with another regulator in case i buy another car.
  19. glad im not alone in thinking this country has gone soft, and all these muslims and the like wonder why there is apparently so much hate crime against them when youve got jokers like islam4uk stirring things up racially and also emotionally by the sheer disrespect of our fallen troops. a lot of friends and family ive talked to and got round to talking about this bunch of immigrants, wonder why there has not been some sort of civil war against them yet, or maybe its coming to a boiling point very soon. i think it will happen if the government doesnt step in and do something about it all.
  20. bahh ps3's arent that much £250 for the new 120 gig slim, not a lot really. oh and if anyone does do the team up thing on COD MW2 then give me an add (mk3cortina) ive just started playing it as i got it for christmas (completed the story missions come boxing day lol)
  21. ive had both so i can say the ps3 is better in my opinion, had an xbox 360 for almost 2 years when it died, got a replacement sent to me, a few weeks later i traded it in when the new ps3 slim came out. and its so much better ive never looked back, stuff paying £30-40 a year for the privilege of playing online and lining microsofts pockets. ps3 all the way. plus if your mates have them you can download the content that they have payed for onto yours for free
  22. just a thought i had not but a minute ago after reading yet another post of a stolen car. im sure most of you have thought about this if not actually do it. but since a thief/thiefs can pretty much be away with a car very quickly, what about anchoring it to the ground? ive recently bought an almax chain and lock for my vespa to stop it going missing, but as it weighs a ton and i never use the vespa, the £150 chain is doing nothing, so i was thinking, put a ground anchor in and chain the car down. at least after some scumbag god forbid breaks into the car, manages to somehow start it, or even tried to tow/hi-ab it away, its not going to go anywhere as its chained down by what seems to be the best almost unbreakable chains there is available.
  23. looks like you have a nice place with a courtyard. do you live in an ex farmhouse or something? got lots of space you lucky bugger.
  24. just wondering if anyone has experienced or seen a rust related accident in their car. what i mean is, your driving along, and then your strut top goes through or a spring mounting point goes and the car comes crashing into the asphalt. i hope nobody has experienced it, however i got thinking about it today, and the repairs ive had to do in the past and what could have happened.
  25. curious as to how i would fit polycarb windows. not just where the original windows would sit but permanently in place. i.e ive seen what looks like rivets on side windows and not on window winder sliders.
