I managed 130 miles on my last tank..... and thats the most ive had form it! i usually work out how much im getting every so often. its usually 12 mpg!!!! but thats what you get for having a Ric Wood engine!!! its well worth it!!!

its a tricky one mate. i got mine stripped and repainted nearly 3 years ago now and a few things are starting to show. Alas, i cant keep it under cover so that hasnt helped i guess. But i hoped it would of been "pristine" for longer. Now it sounds like you have done the right thing but im no expert on panel prep. Could u get it stripped and dipped? that should get everything!!!

I agree with all the points made so far. i have spent a HIDEOUS amount of money on my Capri and i could spend 10k right now on it without struggling! But you dont have to get giddy, but if u do its a horrible feeling when something else goes wrong - even worse when the thing that goes wrong is something you think you have just fixed! however........ i do get an idiot grin on my face when im walking to it in a car park, knowing (with no doubt) its the coolest thing parked there. That people will stop and stare as it rolls down the street and that its me who gets to do it!

Hello all if anybody is interested i have a set of 7j's and a set of x pack 7.5js. think they are all 1979's. original - not copies! all nice and clean and painted silver - look just like the ones fiesta steve has shown pics of. and both sets will have centres! Just got the S moving again after being stood for 3 months! and i fixed the locks! all in all im rather pleased with myself!

Hi Ken No worries mate - its not urgent. not driven much at all this year mate. Combination of me doing not much else but work and the rain! not too bothered about taking it out in it - just my ability to handle it! Ha! ive got a quite a few little jobs i need to do on it. Hi Ken Hope you and the family are well. Dont need a full respray mate, but could do with some bits sorting. Got a bit of rust on the bottom of my doors, roof could do with touching up too. Would you be interested? Dave

Guy at work say's he used to be a "mechanic" Anyway, when he 1st saw my capri (it's a MK3 3 litre S), asked me if i had a quick shift on it - i said no, then he spent 5 minutes explaining what one was - so glad he was there i have always wonderd Anyway...... he then asks me if it has the original turbo? Me....err they didnt come with a turbo mate him....yes they did - my mates got one me - you mean like a tickford or a turbo techniics 2.8? him - no a 3l s, they all had them - ures must be a bodge job. Me - f**k off. dont really talk to hm much now...........

They look like the ones from the a team van the ones on the general are american racing vectors (early ones were made by shelby) but these only have 10 spokes.

Mate, hava serious think. Ive been wrestling whether to sell my 3 litre S - never drive it and i keep spending silly money on it and the cash would be very useful now...... But, if i did there would be a big capri shaped hole left! It may have to go if i cant get some cash from somewhere else but i know i will be sick to my stomach. Why dont you put it away for a month and when some nice weather comes along have drive out - have a bit of distance. Should make up your mind for you. By the by - it looks awesome!

there is some very sad people in the world mate - just enjoy your car and try to forget it. people like that talk like that to make themselves feel important - muppets.

im just 27 and had the capri 4 years now. i cant see myself getting rid - but then i dont have to pay for babies yet either! maybe in that length of time a few things may be different - may of had to replace the engine with an hydrogen unit or something to still be legal!

Was pretty bad. I live near and was in around the city centre working that day..... I just couldnt believe how many there were! And so much traffic - even for Manchester...... in the end people didnt stop at red lights or anything - just kept on going - carnage!

I buy both every month - definately both have a different "feel" so to speak. Which is good in my opinion. Go crazy get them both bought!

This is so annoying...... i actually got the cold shoulder at a meet a while back because i drive a Capri and not a MK1 Escort or Cortina.... some people need an additude adjustment - that escort is mint!
