  1. I was paying over 1000 third party fire and theft on my heavily modified escort MK1 (all mods declared) with flux when I was 21. They were the only company that would insure me as well. My Harrier was about £350 with them last year though which I thought was good but its pretty much standard. Ive heard even though their website says they dont insure under 25s (or similar) my friend has been with them since he was a teenager on his Mk1 escort and they were pretty good.
  2. Im sure I saw them advertised one of the trimming places or possibly rally design for a new set for about £90 + VAT. Magazine I saw it in is at work though so cant check.
  3. My 1600 crossflow breathes heavy amd smokes a bit as well, in fact all of the crossflow escies I've had did. Ive never worried too much unless they started banging and rattling as well. They are pretty bullitproof motors even when theyve been played with so I wouldn't worry too much. On another note if its the car in your sig I nearly started selling body parts when it came on ebay, proper lush!
  4. I think cars have to be over 10 years old to be eligable.
  5. Always the way, im sure country bumpkin wont be pleased to be reminded of the time I stacked an old Mk2 Escort into a hedge (complete with new F-O-R-D grill and quarter bumpers) 2 weeks after we had spent a weekend bashing out the results of crashing through another hedge previosly It will all be fixed in no time though im sure
  6. Cant wait to see what youve got
  7. Sorry bud, just seen this thread, yeah youl have to put some pictures up! Glad to here its been given a new lease of life
  8. Didn't some come with rectangle lights? And we never learn not to mess with old fords, thats why we are all here
  9. lol thats very low I like that! I agree with Mr Sam though about leaving that in a field, smaller festivals tend to be ok but I remember returning to my car after leeds festival a few years back and walking past no less than 6 cars that had all been severely bashed while parked. Just dont park at the bottom of a slope when its been raining.
  10. I flipping love that car, you are clearly a man of very good taste Will miss seeing it about at the local events tho
  11. You can do this by getting a form from a post office (application for log book) im fairly sure. When you send it off they will contact the last registered keeper and if they recieve no reply with a few weeks they will issue you a log book. I did this to register an Escort countrybumkin gave me that had been registered as scrapped and got the log book through after 6 weeks. Costs about £25 to apply but could be well worth it.
  12. cant you just jam it in gear to stall it?
  13. Try it with a square front plate
  14. Ive been razzing this round for a few months now
  15. The escort looks dwarfed by that skyline. Both nice cars but would definatly rather have the escort
  16. Super Oscars fitted
  17. Ordered a set of super oscars from rally design 11am yesterday, they are fitted to the car now
  18. Ha, im gonna get both! I said I would save some of the money from selling the Mk1 but I'd rather do something interesting with it. One more thing, with 2 up 2 down lights what is the general arrangement? Ie driving lights at the top, fogs at the bottom etc? Ive only ever had a pair of spots before. Loving all these pictures!
  19. Im now fairly sure im gonna go for 4 super oscars using the same brackets and layout as RWDmad. I got a price direct from valeo through work and It was considerably more than what companies are selling the on ebay for so Im thinking its time to get some funds into the paypal account. Question is do I want that Limited slipper diff more?
  20. Hmm, now Im thinking with going with the other style brackets, as I'd like to keep the spoiler for now. I just kinda liked the way the lights overhung so far on that sport in the pictures but in practice I dont know if that would be such a good thing. Keep posting pics guys, some great ones which Im saving for reference Thanks, Miller
  21. hmm, just thinking with that syle bracketry i'd probably have to lose the mexico spoiler on the front as well.
  22. I suppose these would fit a Mk2 wouldn't they? http:// http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/product_in ... s_id=10432 Ive had the other style they do before (http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=1810_1871_1873&products_id=10433) I was thinking of getting the lamps from rallydesign, theyve always been really good when Ive brought stuff from them before. Gonna have to have a look aroudn at prices I think. They are super oscars on that sport arn't they? They look bigger than standard oscars to my eyes.
  23. Im really hankering for a set of big 2 up 2 down spots for my Mk2. Im aware Cibie are the way forward but what do you guys run? I found this picture of slimrs' old 1300 sport and it is exactly the look I want. I take it these are Super Oscars and I really like the arrangement. Where can I buy such brackets as a pose to the standard rally style ones? ie: I love spots on any classic ford but when I saw that 1300 sport it really made my mind up. Can anyone recomend where to go to purchase them? Cheers, Miller
  24. I just put two small (4 1/2) Inch speakers on the front bulkhead behind the dash. Literally used number plate sticky pads on the back of them and stuck them above where the carpet ends. Nice and easy and sounds good enough for me.
