Yeah it is but in british oval racing its also a non contact formular where stripped out road cars with souped up engines drive around in circles. Retro ford magazine sometimes covers classic rod rod events (ie escorts / anglias ect) in the magazine. Yeah I see what you mean, n the side on picture something looks odd, if its the angle of the steering combined with the mexico stripe and the camera angle I dont know but the front arch also looks a bit too high for me.

Yep mate it was on ebay but didn't sell, so that weekend I rang the bloke and decided to go on a little 500 mile round trip to re home it - most money Ive ever spent on anything but well worth it

Wheels fitted fine and clear the arches nicely, and could possibly even lower it an inch TBH wasn't really sure how it would look, bit worried they would look lost in the arches due to the tyre size but I dont think it looks half bad as it is The only thing is im paranoid about curbing one as the rim edge is proud of the tyre wall so im being extra carefull at the moment.

Ah ebay is working now, it was £185 the pair delivered mate. They had a few choices on material and colour. The seats were about £200 delivered and are made by raceland. I got them from an ebay shop, I think they were called tuning leader (they are based in denmark or somewhere like that) but I cant get on ebay at the moment to find a link. They only took 5 days to come through (and I ordered them right at the end of december) so I was impressed with that. Mine are alcantarer style in black. Well worth the money and as a bonus they recline nearly flat and tilt forward so you can get to the back seats. The only thing is they dont come with runners although I think you can get them if needed. We had to mess about positioning them when fitting for runners and Ive a feeling runner mountings are spaced further apart on the raceland seats so you may need to redrill one of the seat mountings further apart in the car. Heres a better pic of them. Very comfy they are too!

Heres my Mk1 Escort which Ive had since last April, I posted up some pics not long after I got it but thought it was time to put some new ones up now Ive got it looking how I want it. Was originally an 1100 deluxe but now is running a two litre pinto with cosworth crank + Rods, ported and polished big valve head with 474 Newman Cam, twin 45 Webbers and powering through a type 9 box and an Rs2000 rear axle (with plate LSD) so its lot of fun! Brakes are princess calipers and drilled / grooved discs at the front and RS2000 at the back and the car sits on RS2000 front struts and adjustabl rear dampers at the back. I have just replaced the wheels with 7 J Superlites with 15 / 50 Yokohamas from midland wheels who I will recomend to anyone for their great service and quick delivery Ive also replaced the unforgiving Sparcos with some budget raceland reclining seats which are on ford runners (thanks to country bumpkin) to make driving on the road more plesant. At the same time I fitted the deep dish wheel from rally design (who are also top guys). Car is pretty much how I want it now, only jobs before summer will be to bin the 1300 radiator and replace with an alloy RS2000 one from rally design, sort out a leaking interior and a sticking caliper (which is why the left front wheel is covered in brake dust and the others are clean in the third pic) . That is very cool! Not a fan at all of de handling the rear doors and that looks spot on right now

Its the ancillary drive pulley which is in front of the cambelt crank pulley. Need to get it off the slip the belt off.

So you chaps dont think theres any reason it shouldn't come of with a bit of persuasion? To be honest we expected it just to slide off with the bolt removed but its put up such a fight I wondered if there was more to it (although I cant see how there can be). Always the way with these 30 minute sunday afternoon jobs, although having said that this is the car that it took 4 days to remove an oil filter from once

Those are 13 inch Mk2 Escort wheels, fitted to loads of the lower spec models. Dont think they ever came with chrome hubcaps , just the plastic centre caps and nut covers but they may fit. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/f0/Ford-Escort-Mk2.JPG Ive got a set kicking about as well, dont think there worth much on their own but well worth it if theyve got good tyres

I like them with and without. When I fitted mine I painted up a spare bootlid which I drilled for the spoiler so I can easily swap them round to go back if I want.

My old capper's camshaft seal unseated itself causing oil to leak out, hit the cooling fan and plaster itself all over the engine bay. Completely flumoxed me at the time beacuase the oil was everwhere but a friend sussed it for me and managed to reseat the seal and it was fine then until I sold it

Theres a yellow one on superlites in the crediton area It has an RS owners club sun strip.

Thats very cool, looks very solid Seems unusual on that its got square headlights but no chrome body moldings down the side. Also it appears to have a GL dash and centre console / glove box but it says its an L on the boot, could be South African market things, optional extras, or changed by an owner at a later date?

Well, I sold this solid and basically standard (exept wheels and exhaust) 1300 mk2 earlier this year for £1750, so for yours I think your at least looking at + £2000 even on a bad day. The only thing is would a cortina really be more family freindly tho? Could you not take the cage out of the estate? They are such cool cars, I still miss mine

I run my pinto'd mk1 without one because its still on the stock 1100 radiator at the moment. It warms takes longer to warm up but when it does it runs perfect I have fitted a kenlowe just to make sure it stays cool in town. When I upgrade the radiator Im gonna go with the thermostat. If your mates not got any problems with the current set up then theres no reason to change it

Love this estate, so orginal and clean! Love the colour too, it really suits it! I think my mk1 was orignally the same shade judging from a bit of original paint Ive found.
