  1. Yes im afraid the Mk1 went earlier this month, had kind of lost faith in it because it never worked properly and everytime I fixed it something else broke. Hopefully should have something almost as fast and loud powering this one sometime soon.
  2. Heres some pics of my Harrier.
  3. We will probably join at the roundabout at yeleveton if we get there for ten ish.
  4. Im up for this, Il try to make it along in the harrier and il see if I can twist countrybumpkins arm into going as well
  5. Amen to that! Option 2 for me too. Would have to have a "bolt on" snorting crossflow or pinto though
  6. Did they have remote adjustable drivers mirror as standard? Mine has the mirror but the door cards have no hole for the adjuster. I suppose that silver one is a fair price if its mint. When I brought mine i was just really after a good Mk2 2 Door to build up and as such when the harrier came up I paid what I would have paid for a standard shell'd car in that condition with those bits on. Im glad ive got one now but at the time I didn't think they fetched that much of a premium
  7. Theres got to be more than 39 floating about I'd imagine, but as the shell is the same as the sport and most (including mine) were registered as 1600 sports I expect theres a few replicas about. This one on ebay looks very nice but what a price! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FORD-ESCORT-1-6-HARRIER-DEPOSIT-NOW-TAKEN_W0QQitemZ280323951649QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAutomobiles_UK?hash=item280323951649&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1683%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318
  8. I had a few issues with my suspension so on balance decided it wasn't a good idea to charge into every corner at over a ton. We were expecting to find an escort shaped hole in every hedge we went past the way you were going
  9. Just out of interest what would you consider to be a fair fuel tax? Also what would you do about replacing fuel tax revenue. We do live in an expensive society and the only place it could go is income tax (and it's hardly fair for the non car owner to subsidise the car owner). It could be that without the fuel tax revenue we could sink even deeper into our part of the world recession. It's not just this government, the previous one did nothing to spare the motorist from fuel duty and neither will the next one. How would it be subsidising the car owner? I dont see the money rasied from fuel tax being plowed back into making the roads better. Its more like the car owner is being used to subsidise the government, and I know they need to get income somehow but it just seems like everytime the crap hits then fan they push up the tax and shake a little more out of us as we are the easy targets and they can hit us over the head with the "enviroment" arguement.
  10. ***SLAP*** I seriously hope our jaunt out tonight in the escorts has knocked some sense into you.........even if you may have busted your engine. You seemed to be having fun anyway (from what I could see of you in the distance).
  11. I do like 7 inch superlites, and adens RS2000 pic has got me contemplating stealing the ones on my MK1 and putting them on the harrier You cant go far wrong with superlites, I know a bloke with a Yellow Mk2 RS2000 with silver superlites and it does look good although sadly it appears I havent got any pics of it. Also I think 4 or 5 Spoke Revos would look class on yours oliwally.
  12. Same here, with a bit of heat from a hair dryer they went on nicely and that was on a 4 door Mk2 with the funny shaped bit by the C pillar.
  13. I'd agree with loosing the servo, Ive had Mk2s with and without and to be honest it doesn't make a lot of difference and after youve driven the first 100 yards you just forget about any difference in pressure needed. I think all you would need would be the master cylinder from a non servo Mk2 (which I seem to recall is the same apart from the pipes exit the opposite side because its closer to the nner wing) and you'd need to get some new brake pipe made up to suit. You may need to drill the bulkhead to bolt the master cylinder straight to it if the holes arn't already there. If you want Il get some pics of the non servo set up on my 4 door when my camera starts working again.
  14. It wasn't really a good look...... Maybe if I crash my car il get a picture in.....
  15. I paid £70 for a used but good set..... then promptly put the car through a bank two weeks after I fitted them
  16. Had a look at work today in the QH belt catalogue and it seems 1770mm is the longest they do as well for 4 ribbed belts.
  17. Heres my Mk1 when it was on minilites:
  18. It looks even better in the flesh! I wasn't 100% sure when you said youd settled on that scheme but now its done im so glad you did. Plus it should help keep the workshop lit at night Brilliant
  19. Yeah its a nightmare, my current policy on my Mk1 was just over £1000 for fully comprehensive - but thats on a hot Pinto engine and running gear mods all declared. My other two escorts are under £450 because they are standard.
  20. Beastly.... when you taking me out in it? Show me what a proper Capri is about after the heap of crap I had...
  21. Looks good bud, I have a door strip I think for the drivers door if you need it, would just have to dind a way of packaging it so it doesn't get wrecked.
  22. Runway donuts!!!
  23. Pah, I drive past trees everday mate, never had a problem. Its banks and hedges that cause me problems
  24. Hmm what would make you think im an office worker? I dont think this is Jasons old car its been about a few of my mates before I got it and the first one of them brought it from the garage it was traded in to by a little old lady. And Tony, using a landrover is cheating I heard you didn't get much further yesterday even with one of those.
  25. The car: Unfortnatly came to a sliding halt I managed to get this far (taken from kitchen window): So another day off it is then.
