  1. Will this have a negative effect on the handling? I've just ordered some 16x8" wheels from Image with zero offset but I'm worried they won't fill the arches with an X pack kit. I've heard that the 7.5J RS four spokes have an offset of -20.
  2. Yes mate, rattle can black is the way forward! Nice job!
  3. I've just bought one and the tubular manifold fouls the steering column. Can't see any way to sort it out. Anyone else had problems with poor fit?
  4. Like I said, the problem is intermitent. Never seems to want to play up when I want to check it.
  5. I've got a problem with my engine vibrating really badly (still does it with the clutch depressed so I'm pretty sure it's the engine). It makes the whole car shake. It's intermitent (but getting more regular) so I'm pretty sure it can't be an engine mount. I think it might be the engine missing although the spark plugs all look to be okay and the leads are brand new. Thought it might be the ignition coil breaking down so I've got a new one of those and I'm fitting a new dizzy cap and rotor arm at the same time as they're both looking a bit tired. Does this sound about right or am I totally off the mark? Also does anyone know what the white bits, with rubber covers, that fit between the leads and the dizzy do? I've never had them on any other car. Any help would be much appreciated.
  6. I know the mk3 Capri is the same as the mk1 Escort which I'm pretty sure is different from the mk2 Escort.
  7. I need lowering springs and blocks for my Capri 2.8 and a performance exhaust. I want to lower the car by 2". I've heard Ashley are louder than Janspeed. In a good way? Are either of them any good? Are the CCI Exhausts any good? I only need a mild steel system as I'm gonna put a bigger lump in sometime next year.

  9. I would but i'll be at Bestival in some kind of altered state.
  10. If it breaks, I fix it. If it starts to rust, I'll fix it. Haven't waited 10 years to get the car of my dreams and not drive it!
  11. Got a Momo deep dish wheel on it now tho.
  12. Mmmm. That's so fresh! If that was mine I couldn't even paint it black!
  13. Oh yeah, for all the beard brigade! Check the NOS interior I'm rockin in my fake black brookie! I don't care if you got 800miles on the clock and spend your weekends polishing your brake lines! Mine's fresher than yours!
  14. This may disappoint some of you but it’s not a real brookie. You gotta be nuts to buy a real one! I paid a good 2-3k less for this than I would have had to lay down for the real deal and what’s the difference? A digit on the chassis number. That’s it! Even to the point where the guy I bought it off had bought it as the genuine article and only found out it was a replica when he was trying to sell it. That’s one expensive digit! Thanks to everyone for all the rad comments and you know if I had money to burn, I’d paint a real one in a second just to piss off the old beard brigade!
  15. Never liked Brooklands Green much or the plastic rubbish they stuck all over the later Capris but when I found this bad boy I just couldn't say no to that full leather Recaro interior! Bit of filler and a few rattle cans later and it's good to go! The day after I picked it up. The day after that (didn't like the stripes much) Had to get rid of the daily driver before it was finished so it went round like this for a couple of weeks. Done
  16. Bloody car wouldn't even start! Turned out oil had dripped on the starter motor and caused a bad connection. By the time I got it sorted it was all to late. Gutted!
  17. Mmmmmmmmmmmm! That would look rad with a few coats of matt black!
  18. http://www.rickwrench.com/50dollarpaint.html Check this out!
  19. I had all sorts of wiring problems with mine but I couldn't get a wiring diagram anywhere. Got through it in the end with what I could get out of the haynes ones (The GT ones are the closest), a multimeter and an age of trial and error. Practical Classics is doing a three part rewire your car article. I haven't had time to read the first one yet but it's still in the shops and might be of use.
  20. Rad! I know just how good that feeling is and mine was only off the road for 6mnths.
  21. I looked at gettin some TVR wheels for my Mk3 and they had an offset of 25. They were gonna need 20mm spacers to fit. I'm guessin the Mk2 would be the same but I'm not 100% sure. I did a bit of research into spacers too and it's reckoned to be worth payin a bit more for hubcentric ones.
  22. My Dad's Morgan is Ford Radiant Red and that's a pretty middle of the range red. Be good to get the original colours if you can tho.
  23. I've got a load for my Capri recently from a local fastening shop. They're not always exactly the same and they can't supply everthing but it's a place to start
  24. Got myself a nice deep dish Momo steering wheel off the old ebay last week but everyone I ring about a hub/boss kit tells me they don't list them for a Mk3 Capri. Will it be the same as an Escort Mk2 or a Cortina or something? Anyone know where I can get one?
