  1. Post details in the stolen room Thanks for your concern, but I think she's gone. 13ft luton ally body, DI 5 speed and box, good wheels tyres and axles, worth about 2.4k in scrap alone. I miss her, did 1000s of miles in her, europe and all.
  2. If it had a black vinyl roof it would be a ringer for Look....
  3. undergroundcarpark red? Is that a proper Ford shade?
  4. AAArgh it's red. Did you get home OK?
  5. I am gutten for him too, we lost a Mk2 luton from kent recently, I know what it's like. A 22ft transit is not something you slip in your pocket.....
  6. Mate did you put anything on the roof?
  7. This is getting scary now, anybody seen them West?
  8. Do you think Ken could charge the Kiwis for it?
  9. Nah, I don't want a bullnose. I like the flat front, specially on the SWB.
  10. AAAACEEED!
  11. maybe pintos, but V4s are getting hard to come by! I am half tempted to fit a pinto, but it will take a bit of firewall bashing. The other V4 we are having rebuilt is from the orange Mk1 LWB that's only got less than 6000 miles on it, so it's worth doing.
  12. Absolutely. If Ken and his mates really cared about the environment, they would ban private cars from the centre, permanently or for part of the time, but no, they have decided to just let em come in, as long as they pay for the privilege...... So I repeat, it's not about the environment, it's about money.
  13. When Mr Sam said it failed, did he mean it's been in for a test? If so, it's am MOT failure, end of. Any MOT, even if the previous one hasn't expired, is the current one. Thel latest one, pass or fail, is the one that's the legal one, even if it's only been a week since the one before. You can only have one MOT, and can go and have the test every month if you want to. The newest one is the legal one. It would be OK if you only have a pre test though, as long as the tester doesn't log on. First time i've heard of that and i spent a year of my youth working in an mot garage. No offence mate but if it was during the time there was only paper certs, you could get away with failing a test and still have a cert that proved the car had a test. I had been known in the past to visit one or two test stations if I had a fail till it passed. Now it's all on computer you can't.
  14. Don't get me wrong, I don't doubt it, but if I looked for long enough i could get a whole van with good V4 for £500 (no, I know not road legal, a scrapper), in fact I was offered one for £400 very recently.
  15. Two words. Power stations. The pollution caused by generating electricity is much much more than pollution caused by transport. I don't see Ken having a go at all those companies in the city that leave their lights burning all night in unoccupied offices. The pollution saved by the new CO2 charge per year is equivalent to that produced in two hours by Heathrow at peak operation. Is Ken going to put a charge on Heathrow too? I know there is a passenger tax/charge, but that again is just a money making scheme. I don't see how paying money will improve the environment.

  17. Bin family!! Yeah I saw some of it, didn't get to see enough of the camper to tell what it was....
  18. and its really deterred the US from big engines hasn't it tax exempt vehicles are exempt from the LEZ, and pre 1997 cars don't have CO2s registered with the DVLA so wil only ever be charged £8 for the CC, unless it's actually registered as being over 3L
  19. And the retail industry thanks you for your shyness.....
  20. ........so still going sideways even on a trailer.
  21. Ah right, might be able help if it was a transit!
  22. LEZ is a good idea?? Remind me, you do drive a commercial vehicle don't you?? The LEZ will improve London's air quality, according to the TFL website, by a pitiful 14%. I defy anybody with a natural human nose to go outside right now and tell me the air is clearer, cos it's not. Are these people who drive from one side of the estate in 16 tonners? No I don't think so. The LEZ is currently affecting large commercial vehcles and will take in all commercials of transit size and above by oct 2010. both the LEZ and Congestion Charging, and now the upcoming CO2 charge, are ALL money making exercises, and nothing to do with the environment!
  23. I would always give it a go, no harm in asking. If you don't ask, you don't get! I always at least ask for trade price from (spares) shops, and rarely buy ready meals or large meat cuts like a sunday roast full price. I am ReductionQueen on www.moneysavingexpert.com
