  1. The chasis plate should be on the innner wing near the battery tray. The number would also have been stamped close to the strut top on the same side, but the chances of finding one which hasn't had the strut tops replaced is fairly slim. As so many cortinas have been restored/patched up/modifed its not unusal to find no chasis plate or find it in a difference location. Try this web-site for all sorts of useful things on Mk1 Cortinas: http://freespace.virgin.net/tommy.sandham/databook.htm#Chassis%20Plate
  2. Are they new or did you send the old ones to them? I know you dont get the same ones back, just wanna know what you get back Like JohnyH says, they just use the stub axle and the casting at the bottom - all the rest is new. I dropped off the complete struts to them and they came back like the picture. Can't fault the quality, and they are very knowledgable if you want something non-standard.
  3. Had the struts on the 'tina converted to adjustable and coilover here's a pic: Top quality work.
  4. Just seen Sussex Performance Centre in last months Retro Ford. Has anyone had any experience of them? As they are pretty local to me and a need the 'tina run up on a rolling road. cheers.

  8. Change of Venue as the pub is shut for refurbishment this month: Looks like we'll be meeting at Brooklands Museum this month. They have a classic car meet on Tuesday which is open to everyone, from 7.30pm onwards. Us Cortina lot won't be there until 8.30pm. The best bet is to follow signs for Brooklands Museum, coming off the A3 at Painshill. The postcode for those with satnav is KT13 0QN See you all there.
  9. Not again! I'll have to do some investigating, watch this space.

  14. Sorry folks I won't be able to make it this month - I've been up in Lancashire helping a mate rebuild his garage and I won't be back in time. You all know the pub now so I'm sure you can make it without me. Cheers Cortinaman

  16. Try Footman James - I think they do a young driver classic policy - won't hurt to try them. BTW 105E Anglias were 1959-67. Hope this helps, good luck.
  17. Its that time again - anyone up for a run out, Guildford to Pulborough, West Sussex. So, its Tuesday 21st August 8.00pm onwards, all OSF welcome. For the run down from Guildford, meet at the Ladymead Burger King at 7.00pm for a 7.15pm departure. See ya all there. Here's a pic of the pub: Food's good, beer's good and the landlord's got a Mk2 Escort. What more could you ask for in a pub! and a map for the pub: A MAP and a map for Ladymead Guildford A Map [/img]

  20. I rate Superflex highly too. They know what they are talking about, the bushes fit - well made etc. When I bought some anti-tramp bar bushes off them - the Post Office managed to open the Jiffy bag and one of the sleaves went missing - so I phoned Superflex expecting to have to pay for a replacement - but no, they put one in the post FOC.
