  1. I have used Zephyr Mk3 hubs on my capri hubs. You will need to use the Zephyr bearings though. This will be "American" 5 stud (114.3 PCD), not Granada (112 PCD). The trouble is finding a pair of the tw@ts!!!
  2. I think that looks spot on! For me its not so much the diameter itself, but it is how it is combined with the stance/ride height. The 18's look massive off the car, but when fitted, and the car lowered, they look right. Having said all that, there may be other issues like steering (previously mentioned) with bigger rims. Not easy.
  3. To be honest, we would be looking for around £2500 to £3000 to respray a fully stripped out shell, both inside and out. Obviously the amount of repairs to be carried out and the standard of finish can be a major factor. A lot can depend on what you actually want. Some people are quite happy for the car to be just one colour and shiny, others want trophy winning standard. Its the proverbial "how long is a piece of string" !!! Good luck
  4. Nice collection !, will definitely be at the next one , can't believe i missed it......
  5. Fantastic turnout, and the weather not too bad neither! Some pics form the day
  6. Hi When i was looking at the ST orange, the cost of materials (i think it was a 3 stage paint?) was off putting, but the paint supplier suggested a Lamborghini orange which was very close in shading, but about half the price!! Trouble is, i can't remember the name of the colour, other than it was one of the new ones!!! cheers kevin
  7. Hi, bought one of these for my capri mk3 before christmas. Fits a treat and feels very sturdy. It is worth the money, lets you access areas of the car you never knew existed!!! cheers
  8. I think they will touch old skool stuff. They have a couple of 944's in at the minute, and speaking to the guys, i genuinely get the impression that they would. We can only but ask!
  9. There is a newly formed car restoration company in the North East called AA Restorations. Been talking to the owner (a very enthusiastic chap) as they have moved into the next unit on the industrial estate. They do all types of restoration, to all types of cars including Aston Martins!! Had a quick poke about, and the work looks top notch!! I must point out that i am not connected to this company in any way, but it is so hard to find companies like this, i thought people would like to know. Here is the link to their website http://aarestoration...uk/default.aspx
  10. Not sure about the mk1 engine bay, but i have had a sbc in a mk3 with no cutting or bashing the bulkhead. The key to this is using the right distributor. To be honest, the sbc did actually look a little lost!! There is a 350 sbc with autobox on e bay for £800, add to that bthe engine mounts , gearbox mounts and prop you have mentioned, and it should be in for less than a grand! go for it!!
  11. Thanks, The last pic was outside a bodyshop and it had filler all over It does not look as if it has moved since i saw it at the end of May. Passed it on the bus going to the airport!!!
  12. You are a star!, cheers!!!!
  13. I am converting a mk3 capri to 5 stud hubs, and the zephyrs etc have the american ford pcd that i want cheers
