  1. Been using my '56 Pop since the day I bought it in August, but just bought a (don't laugh) Fiat Cicento to run around in while I take the Pop off the road for some fairly major surgery! Hope to have it up and running again by May, but may keep Cicento for Winter use and just take the Pop out on "Nice" Winter days.
  2. 1980: 1970 Mk1 Escort, Bubble Arched, SUPERCHARGED 1760cc £300 1990: 1958 Ford Pop, SUPERCHARGED V6, Chopped, Centerlines £2500 1981: 1965 Mk1 Cortina, V6, Chopped, Unfinished Project £150 1982: 1961 Consul Capri 1500GT, £1500 1979: 1958 VW Beetle MINT £400 (yeah I know it's not a Ford but even so) and the creme de la creme of them all: 1982. I was 24 hours to late to buy a Mk2 Consul with one owner (deceased) and 1300 (yes hundred not thousand) miles on the clock from new, with original paper mats in back for .... £800 in 1982. It had sat in the garage since the owner died in 1962 as the widow didn't want to sell it because it was a reminder of her deceased hubby. I heard about it, went to see it and it had been bought by a "friend" the day before, so all I got was the story you read above.
  3. Not sure if it's going to be replaced by a wall though, last time I was there, they were talking about it on the tannoy and I'm sure they said that there was going to be a new building there from which you could still watch the action, but maybe from behind protective glass...I could be wrong but I am sure that's what they said. Even so still sad to see a piece of Pod history get demolished!
  4. Nice one, I'll book the time off work tonight!! Cheers for that.
  5. Looks very peaceful out there too, only people in two of the pics!
  6. Anyone know the 2008 dates yet for the Classic Ford Show at the Pod?
  7. Click REFRESH and you may see it!
  8. Ok Nettles, you win (this time). I'm keeping the Pop now and I'm gonna get that V8 rebuilt and open a can of whoopass on you at the Pod in the Summer In case any new members haven't seen it I've moved the OSF Feature onto the main site now complete with new gallery Video Gallery Cheers
  9. Nettles did a Pop/Anglia one for me.
  10. why not have a "group buy", hire an entire container ship and bring an entire "herd" of OSF's back to blighty from new Zealand, me bagsy the blue Mustang or Mk1 Cortina Estate!
  11. Great, I hope he does. I'll defo sign up for that. P.S Theres a lot of "My Arse" avatars in this thread isn't there
  12. The vibration and 'orrible noises coming from the rear end of my Pop wasn't the Propshaft at all, the diff was completely fooked! So much so that there was a bearing rattling around loose inside it, in fact it's surprising that the damn thing thing was still going at all, testament to the strength of the old Jag IRS I suppose, anyway one replacement diff later and it's like a different car! No rattles, no clonks, no vibration. Roll on OSF Drag Championship next year! Talking of racing n trcaks, has OSF ever organised a trip to the Nurburgring? If so is there another in the pipeline, that'd be ace to see all manner of OSF's on the Nurburgring Circuit.
  13. She'd have one hell of a job sitting or doing anything else at all on my bonnet It'd be fun watching her try though. Nice Jubblies!
  14. very professional looking, top job
  15. Don't give it up Tony, your 100E played a big part in rekindling my enthusiasm in OSF's. It's an OSF Icon! All the best with whatever you do next
  16. So basically then this is the story, the guy got in touch with MTV UK, had his car fooked, then thought "oh no, what have I done" and quickly put it up for sale, only to find, no-one was interested...shame
  17. I asked this question when I got my Pop 'cos it had a Rover V8, Vauxhall HA Front and Jag IRS, in fact the only Ford bit is the body, but everyone said that it's about as Old Skool as you can get, so yes, as others have said, it's the body shape that counts. I'd love a 289/302ci Muzzie V8 in me Pop but it's not going to happen any time soon...
  18. Thanks guys I thought the Mk4 would proba come out on top, but will look at Fezzas I think. Cheers for the input
  19. What do you reckon is the cheapest OSF to buy and insure? Mk1 Fiesta, Anglia 105E? MK4 Corty? I only ask 'cos I have a feeling my Pop maybe off the road for a while while the IRS is looked at, the stainless exhaust is fabricated and the petrol filler moved etc, etc, so I want a cheap n cheerful OSF to use in the meantime, any ideas?
  20. I'd love 56 POP, but the wife wouldn't let me remortgage Once saw a Red Mondeo locally with a Blonde driving and the Reg Number was B1 MBO, and no I'm not making it up.
  21. It's getting rather complicated now...
  22. Cheers guys, I look forward to burnin' some rubber at the pod next year! and Will do Neil, the guy reckons he can get 250 odd bhp out of it without spending shedloads of dough, we shall see.
  23. If you hadn't said it, I was going too..
  24. Buy it! You know it makes sense. Don't bother with the push bike though...get one with pedals.. Pops are getting harder and harder to find...I KNOW
