  1. It was at Ypres in 2000, although it has competed there three times so I guess it will have been there between 1998-2002 Link to 2000 report- http://212.126.130.36/results2000/leper.htm It has been out on the Manx as well but i'm not sure of the dates.. Am hopefully going to get an email pretty soon detailing these. Cheers for the comments
  2. Great work lads.. thats what its all about!! Look forward to hearing ur stories of the event... and as its the preston i'm sure there will be many!! Good Luck
  3. Haven't done one of these yet so... My mex is a Historic Rally Car soon to be out on the stages again.. It has competed in loads of rallys ie The Roger Albert Clark, Buldog, Ypres etc Its undergoing a bit of a restoration atm with a hot crossflow going in, respray and a few upgrades (I will have to get a resto thread going soon..) Few Pics- Cheers
  4. The engine performace of WRC cars has alot to do with the anti lag systems and turbo charger responsivness so it basically responds like a NA engine.. I'm no expert on turbo engines in the cars the guys have on the site but I guess that without alot of money spent they will not respond like that!! The old group B cars were the golden age of rallying and IMO the WRC is pretty boring in comparison, saying that the modern WRC cars can only just beat a group B car round some tracks is testement to that.. the group B cars were quicker round some tracks than F1 cars of the time!! I would go NA mate.. I know its more expensive BUT it is what you want. If you were happy with a turbo you would have bought one of the above by now and not keep dwelling on the NA.. Save a bit longer and by the engine you really want.. it'll be worth it in the end
  5. HAHA love it.. defo a fake but great video
  6. Yeah.. well it always happened on a current account (as the rate of interest they pay.. if any) is lower than inflation.. but now it applys to people with savings accounts.. some lucky old people live off there savings and have seen there "income" cut by over a half in less than 3 months!!
  7. Bonus time for you then Posse... depending on how quick it comes you could have a bit of extra sponge in ur pocket for christmas.. you should be moved onto only paying 2% rather than your usual payments each month
  8. Yes mate it is.. down to 2% now, the lowest in 57 years Great if you got a tracker mortgage, but shit for anyone who has savings as you now lose money in savings accounts.. as interest rates are now lower than inflation

  12. Even notes can be dodgey, a mate of mine got done like that even though there were, to the untrained eye, not dodgey. Everytime I have sold a car I have met the guy at a bank (they always have car parks) and paid the money straight in to my account so its checked by the bank.. perhaps i'm over cautious. But with a car like that mate you have no reason to rush, its an absolute minter and someone will pau top dollar for it

  16. The Escort will be fine on the Preston... Uncle's one lasted best part of 5, apart from the strut incident, and the diff seizing solid, and a small off into a bush, and taking out a marshalls post (watch them scatter!! ) Its all good mate, my car has done the preston with no problems.. [/img]
  17. Shit Luck mate.. sorry to hear about that!! What a twat!! The Preston is a superb event.. you gotta get it sorted in time!! My uncle competed all through the 90's in MK1 Escort, was leading in 97 when the suspension came through strut plate.. had to bodge it back into place with some "borrowed" fence and limp to the end Classic times.. Good luck mate and keep us updated..
  18. Agreed.. if an engine is built well and kept running well even in a so called tempremental rally spec then there is no reason why it shouldnt be just as reliable as any other tuned engine... Rally engines are built to be strong because of the way they are used... if they were tempremental most cars would drop out after the first stage!!!
  19. Is this the point the whole forum magically disappears as Posse hits the wrong button?? lol Nop that's a special button which ive only come close to pressing a couple of times Accidently or on purpose???
  20. My mate has a custom Zephyr, used to win a few awards.. roof chopped it, had to make a brand new floor, runs a chevy v8 and nos, used to run 13second 1/4s.. pretty cool machine Its sitting in his garage under some sheets...

  22. Jason's Engine: Taken From Rallyesportescort
  23. These are cracking engines if you can afford one in the first place... not cheap!! AA few of the Irish Rally boys are running them.. very quick. They sound good imo, but not as nice as a BD.. but then you wont have to rebuild it every few hundred miles.. They are great engines.. I doubt they would be much cheaper than the N/A cossie you were looking at..
