    A grand day out

Looks good ive been meaning to go for ages as its only just up the road from me.My mum and dad took me when i was a tot and i dont really remember much about it.I know my little 1 would love it ,but id definatley be borrowing someone else's car .Im not having monkeys pulling my escort about
  6. The stupidity of some people never cease's to amaze me
  7. I loved wispa's ! i noticed them go and was gutted .i also loved terry's chocolate pyramids in the 80's too.Funny Vista mentioned rubix cubes they had a guy on tv earlier who can do 1 in under a minuite using his feet ! thats mad i used too peel the stickers off mine aswell
  8. I bought a 1600 xflow from an old chap tonite,It belonged to his son who was getting it built to put in his escort but before he even got the engine back together the car was nicked! That was 9 years ago ,it has been rebored new pistons and rings, crank reground and new bearings, new water pump and a recon dizzy plus the cylinder head which looks mint .has Its sat in a lock up with oil poured in the bores wraped in a load of oily cloth all that time.A m8 heard about it and told me so i popped up asked the bloke what he wanted and he said he didnt have a clue.I told him to say a price 100 quid later its now mine !!!
  9. Nice ! you wouldnt get a fag packet laying face down under that front spoiler
  10. My best bit of Deliverence ! wish i could play my guitar as well as the kiddy on the banjo

  12. About 5k including buying it ,but ive yet to change the power plant more than likely goin the n/a cossie route so that figure will raise a fair bit !!!
  13. Its wrong but
  14. You can fit stick on plates perfect with no air bubbles by wetting the surface of the area you are sticking it to with water and a dash of washing up liquid .This also means you can slide it about till its in the right place and the air bubbles smooth out easy.they just wipe off the excess soapy water and give it a bit of gentle heat with a hair dryer to set the position.leave it a couple of weeks before jet washing or any hard scrubbing when cleaning.
  15. I was given a four door mk1 the other week. Its been in the guys garden for nearly 20 years ! it took an hour with a chainsaw and a rip hook to clear the bushes and saplings that had grown over it.its completely rotten i grabbed the drivers door handle to open the door gave it a yank and the complete b pillar came away!!! it has no floor left under whats left of the carpet as rats have chewed up the entire interior pretty much.im goin to take everything possible.there is not a panel you cant put your fingers through and the cars sunk to the axle in the ground ! shame it was left to die the old guy who gave me it said it failed the mot on silly things and wasnt needed so it wasnt repaired and there it stayed !
  16. Thats a scary bit of film but i dont think itd put the owners of them or potential future owners off.You would have to be a big fan of the back to the future films or have a phobia of rust to buy 1 anyway.I did hear demand is so high for deloreans that they are being put back into production in a limited amount.i hope they do some safty modifications on the new run if they do.A new run of 2 door mk1 and 2 escorts would be a better way to spend the money !!!
  17. Nice pm it over to me ! If its something to save time and money it cant be a bad idea !
  18. The only way to ever learn is to get your hands dirty .as its already been stated dont rush you'll only overlook something ,break it all down into steps.but like vista said youve spent some money on some nice bits if you do get stuck on something or are unsure seek some help from someone who knows saves time and expensive mistakes.Ford engines are simple and the books do make sense when you are following them step by step just stick with it you'll get there ! nothing like being hurled up the road by an engine youve built yourself
  19. NICE lucky git bet you are loving it !!!
  20. With the overpriced crap that is being passed off as top notcth stuff being quite common ,you do wonder if most of it is designed on a computer built on the cheap from poor materials and never even test fitted on the cars its meant for before being put on the market.I got an exhaust system from a very well known manufacturer for my last osf it was shocking!!! brackets 3 inches away from where they should be bends at the wrong angles.i phoned to check there wasnt a mistake with my order it was that bad could have been for a completly different car.but in the end the grinder and mig came out ,might as well have built my own in the end for the hassel it was to get it on.its gutting to hand out your hard earned for rubbish but all the time people build and restore their cars someone round the corner will be waiting to take their money.
  21. Ive resto'd 4 cars in a single garage no probs.i can usually nick a corner of my mates workshop but if he's too busy then the trusty single garage has to do the job.space can be tight sometimes when u have all the panels off and stood around the sides of the car but you can do it all from resprays to engine swaps.
  22. Just cashing in on the classic car spares market if its advertised as better than original or uprated they know it will sell and can pass off crap parts as something they are not.Ive been disappointed with stuff ive spent loads on just to turn out to be a total waste of time. But then on the other hand ive had parts that have been exellent and that have far exceeded my expectations .just got to buy from trusted companies and try and find out more about these parts and get second opinions before we hand the cash over...
  23. Makes you wonder how the bloody hell someone like that passed their test !
