good for you mate! do you need a HGV licence to be a driver or is that just a plus, because that would deffinatly be a pro !! im going to ring up tomorrow i think and get it all sorted before i thinkk myself out of doing it lol To drive the appliance as it's called,yes you need a class2 HGV licence. I'll have about 6-7 months of training before they let me even sit in the truck on a shout and i probably wont be able to drive it until around 12-18 months worth of training. Go for it,its just like appliying for any other job. You dont need any skills or first aid knowledge as you will get all the training on the courses they send you on and they pay you to train. Best bet is to go down your local station and have a chat just like i did
