Reading a copy of Nuts mag at work last night & it had a feature entitled something like "rarest mass produced cars left in the UK" & included in that list was the Mk4/5 Cortina with them stating that out of 1,065,682 built between 1976 & 1982 there are just 2010 left on the British roads!!! Others included are: Morris Marina: 745 left from 807500 Cavalier Mk2: 6343 from 807624 Skoda Estelle: 612 from 102105 Renault 5 Mk1s: 499 from 216199 Renault 18: The rarest listed with just 317 examples left on UK roads! Also included were the Austin Maestro, Montego & Metro!

New roof skin will sort that out. Definately had a vinyl roof fitted, my gold Ghia had a small hole in the roof panel about the width of a biro when I removed the vinyl roof. Rear scuttle panel below the rear screen is knackered too, never seen one that bad

My Series 1 RS Turbo, looked good & solid when I bought it but 2 months later the base of the A post where the bottom door hinge is caved in due to rust!! Bought it for £2600 & sold it 4 months later with no MOT for £1100!

What Martin said. The black ones are Capri Laser (Webs around nuts & the spokes are thicker than the 6" RS alloys) The blue ones are RS alloys (Webs are thinner as are the spokes). Genuine RS alloys are flat faced seats for the nuts whereas Capri Laser ones are tapered & use tapered nuts to secure. Can't remember which way around it is, can't find the Classic Ford with the wheel guide but one are stamped 6Jx13 & the others are stamped 13x6J

Not a great deal, maybe a couple of quid. Incidentally I've got a collection of over 20 workshop manuals for Mk1/2 Escorts ALL different!!!
