  1. they'd end up falling over repeatedly and then we would throw them in a container till the police turned up. . . . im just glad my old mans gotten rid of his shotguns, especially as my granddad caught someone stealing from his greenhouses back in the day (owned a nursery) and he set the dog on him (gun dog) and then told the dog to leave him so he could pepper the bloke with shot, bloke survives runs to the hedge that backs onto the main road and dives through it, only to get hit by a car (probably doing 50 ish).
  2. This isn't as bad as other people have experienced but hey, Basically my dads got a container in the yard he runs his business from that he is storing parts in, Bits for his mk2 escort van and a load of parts for his Mk2 Tina Savage rebuild. Any-whoo there is a rolling shell on a decent set of rostyles in there. Now this yard is out in the sticks and he shares it with a spray shop and a garage. So usually people in and out for all these businesses but he went in middle of last week and everything was kosher. But some bastards opened a shut container and half inched all the centres out the wheels over the weekend. All i don't get is why just the centres, there is a 190 bhp pinto on jenveys in that shed. Probably just easy to get off but still we have put locks on it and security cameras etc.
  3. it does go wrong though
  4. Its a shame Ford Europe aren't a bit friendlier with Ford USA. Surely wouldn't be difficult to get a RWD chassis that could take the 3.7 v6 mustang running gear etc
  5. i have a larger version of this at home if you need it.
  6. I can vouch for Duvel as well. I work out in the Netherlands lots so often have an evening in a hotel drinking a few Palms and Duvels. I always find Duvel creeps up on you. 5-6 of the little ones in the nice glass and you think your fine then you try and stand up and BAM your a 14 year old kid whose just downed a 3l bottle of white lightening....
  7. Id of cracked out the Snatch quotes Vincent: "Why'd you do that for?" Tyrone: "I didn't see it there." Vincent: "It's a four ton-truck Tyrone. It's not as though it's a packet of King peanuts. Is it?" Tyrone: "It was a funny angle." Vincent: "It's behind you, Tyrone. Whenever you reverse, things come from behind you."
  8. bloody hell. well if youre gonna do it, do it proper...
  9. It should have died at the hands of stig blomqvist etc or at least another rally driver on an actual rally. Right enough thread jacking. Aren't ford pumas amazing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. I'm not saying everyone doesnt crash. BUT if someone gave you a go in a car that was historically important. Would you not be a little more careful than usual with it?
  11. The story of STW 201R The Story about this car is pretty complex, It won the Safari in 1977 it was its only event and went straight into retirement and into the Ford Heritage Collection. Later ford were sponsored by BA, and needed a publicity car, so they borrowed STW201R, re painted it in BA colours and with a Reg Plate WTW 567S, which was the BA car that won the RAC that year. So STW 201R was in effect stripped of its ID and VIN, even though the car still existed as the second WTW 567S. In 1978 ford made some new cars, but were short of Regs, so they revived STW201R using the VIN plate from the shell in the Ford Collection, this car was used by Hannu in the 1000 lakes, it did one or two more rallies before it was sold over to Dave Sutton and run in Rothmans colours for Malcolm Wilson, except Dave built a brand new car and used the reg from the boreham car. This was then sold to Clew Hughes, then to Colin Short, then sold to a rally school in Wales. Although the original car was still back in the Collection, it had no real ID, Ford lent the car to the BBC for Tif Needell to do a pre RAC show with the car, but he crashed it and it needed a new body shell, so Ford shipped it off to Dave Sutton and he re-shelled it and shipped it back to the Ford Collection . Dave Sutton then bought the damaged bodyshell off the insurance company restored it and brought it to the RS show in Donington and it was purchased by Rodney Preston. So in short Rodney has the original Bodyshell, the running gear is in another shell in the Ford Collection, the new(dave sutton) STW 201R was in a rally school in wales until very recently, I think Alan Watkin bought it. I know MK2 Escorts are made to be abused. But if your telling me its fine that Tiff crashing the RS1800 that won the 1977 Safari then i think you need your head looking at. Granted i think there is 4 STW201Rs in existence today but he crashed the original. And to me that = Tosspot (fairly sure he stacked the Mk7 jag he was driving at Goodwood this year may be mistaken though.)
  12. Top gear would'nt need the stig if they still had good ol Tiff Ok, no. sorry but tiff has always been a pillock to me. And then he totalled one of the original works Escort RS1800 rally cars whilst filming for something and thats been it. Cant remember the reg of the car, will check the book i read that in and post it later.
  13. VR is the Daddy. There is no denying it the man was obviously a get away driver in a former life as he can push anything to its limits and come out the other side looking like it was so easy he could do it again drinking an espresso. All I want to know is what will he try next?? Jetboats?? or maybe the Red Bull Air Race.
  14. You should try driving a RWD cossie one....
  15. Not me guv never....
  16. Now this is the sort of thing that makes me ashamed to say I'm British. Why on earth would torching cars seem like a good idea. Imagine what you would do if you caught someone doing that to your motor. Sad times.
  17. If im at home usually Westons Vintage Cider (8.2%) or something involving lots of rum ( Habana Club, Mount Gay, Morgans Spiced) and coke or ginger beer.
  18. My mates been on a Zetec build for his tiger kit car for a long time. And has only recently told me why its off the road etc, Turns out he went for a track day with a standardish pinto in it and whilst doing about a ton he heard a nice BANG. And this is what he found. I never expected to see a standard engine put a hole like that in the block. He reckons oil pump failure causing a seize and then a conrod and piston going AWOL on detonation. Basically the technical term is"Its fooked"
  19. Id blatantly have a C110 70s Skyline GTR, But get shot of my escort for one? you gotta be joking
  20. Never been in that situation, but I don't know whether I could say no. How is it that people can get away with this sort of thing. Thing is, say you'd been mister black belt and kicked the living crap out of him. knowing this country he'd end up suing you and you'd end up doing a stretch at one of her majesty's fine hotels.
  21. Engine Out, engine bay glossy black or match body colour, if funds are there get my spare 205 bored to a 2.1 with some nice pistons etc, back seats out fire wall in and sprayed, dash out spray part of it orange and put back. roll cage, rebuild hubs, new discs and pads. Then full nut and bolt ready for next year.
  22. See this at a few local shows/events, looks hard with the Orange/white/black combo mate make me want another MK2 Cheers, I was considering going a pearly graphite on the wheels when i got them, That changed once I put them on to check fitting.
  23. Couple of mine.
