  1. No they dont but after speaking to an mot'er my son according to the " ministry " if the engine doesnt appear to be what it should be and the engine number is taken and put into the machine and doesnt match up with the details then it shows up at the Ministry and it also puts the tester in a spot and he could be disiplined , still bad advice aint good advice is it surely its better to have all the details correct , as i said previously youve obviously been lucky ..
  2. Been going for what seems like ever even when is was held in Slyfield , showing my age now .....a couple of years back it snowed and by about 4ish the whole show field was a white out anyone remember that ?
  3. Possibly you have been lucky but when it comes to engine changes etc ive always been honest .......and im pretty sure a 1.6 pinto looks just like a 2.0 pinto ?? so it would appear the correct engine, still were all different and i find having the correct engine size etc is the right way for me .... Have to completely disagree with this. The MOT will test as found, and the DVLA have no interest. I have 1.6 pinto on a 2L V5, petrol in diesel V5, diesel in petrol V5, V6 petrol cologne in a diesel V5 and NONE of them have posed a problem It took ME 3 years and 4 MOTs to notice one of the wrong fuels! I sent off the V5 myself, and it didn't get changed, just returned without a mention (no letter, nothing). The main difference between me and you is I have said nothing about it to the DVLA. If they made it easy to be honest, ie believe you when you fill out the form (as long as it makes no difference to the tax, which on PLG mostly it won't) far more log books would be straight.OK, if you say you are putting in a smaller engine in an attempt to get cheaper tax, I can understand the DVLA needing proof. At the end of the day, it's not mass murder and as long as the insurance co knows (get it in writing they know) that will do me!
  4. When its MOT'd if the mot tester has a knowledge of pinto / crossflow etc and he enters the engine size into the computer it will inform the DVLA of an incorrect engine cc and could possibly need an inspection , the made up letter is a big gamble as when i done mine the engineers (who i got to do me a report) had a phone call about the car / installation etc so its best to be honest ....

  16. Nostalgias a wonderfull thing but sometimes its overpriced , i had one exactly the same in 1980ish and sold it for 580 quid in really tidy condition , the lad i sold it to bent it around a tree the night he brought it off me it was bent in the middle , he tried to sell it back to me for the 580 but i said no , i had replaced it with another at the time .....

  19. Having somewhere to do it would be the biggest problem as its not a quick job as you would probably know and as i have 2 old skool projects in my garage at the moment time is precious , have you sorted a toughened screen for it as the older ones cant be cut down , i used to use 6mm perspex back then and say the screen was tempory but you could never tell ................
  20. I did a roof chop on a MK2 2 door in the late 80's early 90;s it turned out just what the owner wanted and he was over the moon though as it was a 2 door i think i would have left it unchopped , though during that period i was roof chopping everything and they were good times , if you do it it will definatly be a different angle on a MK2 Tina in this decade as alot of the panels have a "squareness" as opposed to a round / curved panel the metalwork isnt too bad .......Its your car / choice

    hrmmmmmmmmmmmm

I can remember when there were more that 10 crisps in a packet and you didnt have to buy 2 packs just to get a decent amount .......and you got 7 sticks in wrigleys chewing gum ....green ,yellow and white packets
  22. Looking at the way its constructed and the ageing off the sheets i would say its asbestos though only becomes a risk if its broken or as said earlier drilled , any exterior paint would be ok i usually use oil based undercoat if im going to seal any so it doesnt dust up and stops the kids from touching it then putting there fingers in there mouths , itll be expensive to have it removed though if done by a firm you can do it yourself and take it to a tip as long as its double bagged ..

  24. A mate of mine brought a black with the silver strips one about 18 months ago so he could take his ducati race bikes to meetings he paid 18k for it , did go well though but the passenger seat was uncomfortable too upright and it couldnt be adjusted apparently due to the fixed rear bulk head .....he tried to sell it to me last time i see him for 10k as he was strapped for cash . ill have 1 one day ...
