I dont mind workin on OSF's and have done for 30 plus years and have an unhealthy addiction to welding

well a couple of weeks ago i get a call from a lad that works with my lad asking would i put a big tunnel in his MK2 Escort RS2000 , its a totally original one and supprisingly clean , he's goin the Cosworth / T5 route with it so i explain that at that moment i was busy work wise (im a builder)but if he could wait a few weeks i could probably do it as the weather is starting to get damp , so last night i load the van up with welder , grinders , clamps , 3ft folder etc etc and at 7ish this morning head off to Reading takes about an hour each way from here , so on getting there i measure up , cut out existing tunnel then install a new tunnel and got in at just gone 7 this evening but it was a totally different day though totally enjoyable working on an old Ford .........Im considering a job change

A few lads i work with say Conrad is there hero and should get a medal as Jacko was though unproven into kids as we all know getting of the various charges against him as he was a wealthy star.............and say a doctor done the same to Gary glitter would the feeling be the same ??? ......I personally couldnt give a shit about jackson and somebody was going to prison for his death due to him being a big meal ticket for the family ...

11pm your lucky some twat very nearby within a street or 2 started letting there bloody fireworks off this morning at 3.30ish am and i think they must have had every "normal" working person up

Ill have a ride out as never been to Box Hill before its about 70 to 75 mile , hopefully the gearbox will hold out as im loosing gears fast , i think ive the only 31/2 speed T5

Im sure they cant make you pay if its not in any contract/paperwork if you havnt signed to agree it ? This came up for me this time last year as a company i got involved with , im self employed wanted me to drive there really long wheelbase sprinter i didnt need to as i have my own van anyway i agreed to drive it and they put me on there insurance then they come up with this you have to sign this to pay the first 250 if smashed etc etc , i said no chance with that they said fine so how did that work

What i cant get my head around is the lads even on this forum theres several and 1 in particular that when someone asks "i dont know what this is worth" or somthing along them lines , they give a reply "stick it on ebay " youll get a fortune etc etc so there adding to the price hike in OSF parts/cars surely ??? over the years and even now if i can give someone something to get there motor on the road i do , last month i gave a young lad who is a mate of my son a pair of old/used really fair condition mk1 mexico wings , i even said id do a couple of very minor repairs to them when needed , though i know there value as i paid 500 quid each for NOS ones only last year , sorry it sounds like a rant but surely look after each other !!! ......And yes the prices of OSF stuff is crazy

Ive got a mate in Harrow who moves cars about with a proper slid off type recovery lorry , also into his OSF ( he has a cossie anglia van ) so knows how to look after cars.......let me know and ill give you his details..
