No the car is staying with me, just selling on the engine and straight cut box. Got a new engine and box to go in there, I don't think you will approve but it's still a pinto!

A few bits i have for sale. BVH ported pinto head with Adjustable pulley and Kent RL1 cam, from my crappy tape mesaure the valves are 44mm inlet and 38mm exhaust. £225 ono. I have a 3 piece exhaust manifold for a pinto and exits into a 2 1/4 collector, used for 500 miles, could use a paint up. £50 ono Geared pinto starter motor, again been on the car about 500 miles, works a treat. £75 ono. More bits will be added once there found. All parts are in Croydon, Surrey. Dan 07815 098 702

You can turbo an st170 lump with the vvt still! A mate of mine has 1 and it is running 350bhp and runs a 12 sec 1/4 at the pod on road tyres and a dying t5 box! So yes it is possible to get good power out of them with the vvt, and it runs on a megasquirt ecu! Home built and a monster! A cheap way for 250hp is a zetec with calibra turbo pistons, efi, turbo and you will see that power easy with not too much boost! Anything is possible if you put your mind to it and listen to people that have done it not what people think is possible!

The GrassHopper meets, now what ever happened to those?! There were a blast back in the day, I agree with Puddy we need more meet like that so people will bring there cars out again!

I had one until a few weeks ago, snapped a halfshaft and destroyed the breaing holder! Was great fun to drive with as even with a standard engine sideways is easy and very controlable, even more so than a friends card with an atb! Parking and pushing is a nightmare but you live with it to be honest and I did suffer the nose pushing on in corners around the country lanes which did spoil the drive a bit. But for a bit of cheap fun try it and you'll like it but I would say go for the extra and get a propper slipper!

Most people here tend to only run carbs with a turbo kit so put out about 160hp. Like the Skogen Racing guys in Norway do, run efi, 1 bar of boost on a pretty much standard engine and you will have 250hp. Holset turbo is the flavor they use, with a standard cossie bottom end and a mild pinto head you can see 300hp+ with about 1.2 bar but you can run more. The cost is not that much, turbo, few hundred quid. Exhaust manifold, mega squirt, efi etc. So for about £1500 you got 250hp wayyyyyy cheaper than a standard cossie lump would cost and that would probably need a rebuild!

Who works on there old fords at midnight ?
EscortDan replied to mk1cossydan's topic in OLD SKOOL FORD CHAT
Many many times been out there until silly o'clock! Picking up cams at 10:30pm lol eh Marc! -
I use one on the road and only pain is the low speed turning reversing etc. as it jumps about a bit but aprt from that it is great fun and very predictable to and easy to slide with. If you have one slap it in and try it, I use it as it is all I have lol!

Any saarrrfff londers help out with this post from Marc, Mex255l? I don't have a car ready to put on the stand but will be there to help out! Hi Everyone particularly locals to Lower Kingswood On Bank Holiday Monday 4th May Lower Kingswood is holding their annual village Fete and have asked my wife (who is on the commitee) and myself to see if we can get a small posse of classic cars together to bring to the Fete as an attraction for people to look around. Cars will be manned by someone at all times. So far I have about 4 or 5 cars and would love to get about 20 to come along so if you are looking for a nice day out with the family or just want to show off your car let me know. Cars need to be on site by 12.30pm fete starts at 1.15pm and finishes at 4.30pm we would prefer that all cars stay til this time but if you need to go then there is access. some of the attractions to keep u amused are as follows:- BEER Tent most important! burgers, raffles, stalls, welly throwing, go karts, golf, bouncy castles, cream teas, cheerleaders, owls and loads for the kids! if your interested please post a reply or pm thanks Marc _________________ Dan

Ahh the N/A Cossie, built on fosters and smirnoff Vodka! -
All depends how good and long you want the car to stay clean and shine for! Meguiars is the nuts, I use the professional range, you can't get it in halfords like the NXT range and gold class though! I use the #7 polish followed by #16 mirror glaze, and beleive me mirror glaze is the nuts, it comes up like a mirror and feels silky smooth to the touch as well. Several layers of that on the car and all you need is a wash once a week with the gel wash and it stays looking good for months, I'm a bit sad though i wash it once a week then apply more wax to keep it topped up! Well worth the money and effort.
