When mine got really badly scratched, i had the choice of a fresh 8' x 4' sheet of proper makralon polycarbonate at 80 quid, or god knows how many hours of rubbing/polishing on the old ones that i had to take out anyway. No brainer.

Had to do it. Hand forced by lack of funds/time. Mot due in a week, and she won't stay running for long enough to endure one. No free weekends between now and mid Jan. Already gathering dust at work, looking really sorry for herself. Going to get drunk tonight.

Skinny bumpers would be very interesting. If you're doing skinny front quarter bumpers with cut outs for the indicators, then im gonna start saving up.

You'll get £1500 easy. A 7 day auction finishing when people have had just enough to drink on a sunday night, no bother. That set up has left us all with something new on the drive at one time. Im not saying you'd have to be drunk to buy your car, not at all, just thinking of how you could get somewhere near what you've spent. Personally, i'd keep it, it's lovely.

I bought a rotten mk1 Xr2 years ago. Kept the engine and running gear, and sold the shell with the V5. 2 years later an mot'd fiesta with the same reg. (memorable) appeared on ebay. Was obviously a different shell (no rear bulge), contacted seller to ask if he knew this. He was a bit sheepish so i suspect he did. . . .

Ditto that. The most sideways i get in the fiesta is a 3-point turn. However, i drive an 320i bmw e30 to work at 6am every morning, and it rains lots up here.

. . . a 4dr mk2 cortina, in pale green with a white lotus style stripe, on superlites, with a cage, and apparently a 3.9 rover v8 under the bonnet? The guy who does my mot's had it outside his his workshop a few days ago. Said it was his, bought from Lancashire recently.
