I always preferred mk2s when i was younger , and then had one as my first legal car back in the 80s. first and only one, and have had many mk1s and currently own a mk1. I prefer a standard body mk1 but do like a forest/box arched mk2

How about asking Classic Ford /Retro Ford mag etc to publish a note to the effect of its nothung to do with OSF.co.uk ? Anyone know who to ask ?

Your right its just knobheads that ruin it , its not necessarily certain car owners or makes/groups but just that minority element within..

they ought to cancel all meets then!! Your telling me that if you went to any other meet , that there wouldnt be an element of donuts and burnouts etc etc. You can just see all those jap import drivers sticking to the speed limits cant you !! I think not...bet they all think there on the set of Fast and the Furious !! and custom cars and hot rods im sure wouldnt do anything wrong either !! Just annoying that its prob all platic bumpered stuff thats not Old Skool thats going to give the site a bad name.

stripes are the way forward

Im thinking about having a few runs up the strip, as im sure others will, so will it be better to park up in a certain spot in the stand area to make life easier? also what sort of time are you wanting people to get there for stand places ?

I remember my wifes MX5 had 2 rubber vent pipes as standard , vented through the floor which is where i got my venting idea from. I was thinking of a gel battery, but presumably if i vent out the new battery then that should help with any gasses ?

Thats what i thought. Just was hoping to get away with buying another battery so soon!! Cant really take it back to shop as it was me that overcooked it . im sure its a bit bowed at each end also.. off to Halfords later then !! Thankfully have a trade card so a healthy discount helps !

My battery is located in the boot, but ive a strange smell coming through to the car and wondered what was the best way to vent it ? ive stuck a plug in one of the vent holes and used some small platic connectors and clear pipe to the other vent hole and this exits through the grommet in the left rear well. My alternator was charging at 19v and the battery was really stinking , in fact there was smoke coming out of it !! Ive changed the alternator and now its ok at 14v, but im assuming i may have killed the battery? It was new in Nov last year. It still hold charge but how can i tell if its damaged? Or can anyone recommend a sealed battery ? I just dont fancy our 1 year old being in the back with all those bad smells floating about the car. Cheers Rob

No unfortunately not. they are really nice but im gonna stick with my existing interior. the rear seat i think must me 1300e as its a black velour one. ive stuck them on ebay , but if anyones interested pm me. will also stick them in for sale section

Picked up a set of buckets seats today , The guy said they were RS ones but they are Paddy Hopkirk seats. Looks like they have been retrimmed . Cant seem to find any info on them at all. They are recliners and look similar to the contour clubmans. Really havnt got a clue of what they might be worth as will be passing these on if i can. Any info gladly appreciated.

Hi Rob I ordered my replacement exhaust from them. I went for the sportex one with manifold. I must have been lucky as it arrived the next day and they undercharged me !! Fitted perfectly too. I am surprised, but its a real shame when somewhere well established acts like that. Ive put that janspeed system on ebay, but that offers still there if you want it. Im only about 5mins from IKEA , but auction ends in 8 days so will need to know so i can cancel auction if its of any use to you. cheers Rob
