Would love to take my Mk1 out to spain for an extended holiday. Weve a place north of Costa Blanca and cant remember the last time I saw a classic Ford out there !

both the i phone and galaxy are great. I have a galaxy s2 for personal use and i have a iphone 4s for work. Got to say overall i prefer my galaxy s2 so can only assume the s3 is better. In fact Apple must be worried as they are desperatly trying to get the samsung phones banned !!! Galaxy is larger but thinner and lighter , I phone is heavy and very fragile as glass on both sides. Also you are knackered if battery goes as its fixed in to the phone, in fact if you need to do anything on teh i phone its got to go back to Apple. Siri is pants, doesnt understand a word i tell it, unless i swear and then it tells me off !! I phone very handy for music , and apps, but plenty of apps for android phones.. personal choice really , and cost is in favour of Samsung. HTC phones are supposed to be spot on too and im told they created the android system too !!

Thought id try on here for any advice before I get the garage to fix my van. I only bought it last week from here, drove it back one evening. following day popped the bonnet to notice the header tank is black and full of oil. Checked oil in engine thinking head gasket but that seemed ok. Header has oil baked thick on inside so been like it a while. Garage thinks its the oil cooler and says its a common problem with transits and mk3 mondeos with TDCI engines. Trouble is its nearly £400 for a new one They can fit a second hand unit and replace header tank as its not cleaning out at all, for just over £300including vat and labour. Just worried that it will be wasting more money Anyone else ever heard of this problem at all ? Its an 05 plate 2.0 TDCI one. Any help greatly appreciated as need to give them a response to get on with the job.

Its not the govermnent milking it, its the garages !! Why do so many garages like to do mots only now?? The mot costs around £2 . The garage then hikes the price up to what they want to charge. I think the maximum they can charge is £54 at the moment. My local garage has just gone up to £26 from £25 !! Hes a car enthusiast has gets all custom cars and old cars going to him as hes not silly. (hes currently got a V8 mk3 Cortina awaiting restoration- an old goodyear 1970s advert one). I do agree than some kind of inspection should be done, as this will be a loophole for many badly maintained deathtraps. I can imagine how many land rovers will be around with pre 60 loglooks!! However most genuine car enthusiasts will have a very well maintained and safe car, its just the minority as usual.

I had the same recently. I sold a scooter back end of 2010.roughly 2 months ago i got an email from the guy asking if i had sent my part off as he had never received anything. He applied for a new one and 2 weeks later I got a fine for it. thankfully i am very anal when it comes to paperwork so promptly sent back a reply with a photocopy of my copy of the completed logbook with a note telling them to forward to fine to the post office or their post department as I had done my bit !! Never heard anything back from them .. Always photocopy or take a picture with your phone etc of it before you send it off.

I actually quite like them. Its good to be different. Especially as they look like knock on/off types, so assume hubs would need redrilling for fitment.

Various ones out there. I have a King one in my Land Rover running a 3.1 V6 in it, and the Escorts got a basic turn dial one bought on ebay for around £15. You could always get the correct Yamaha one from a bike which should be set up at the correct psi for the carbs , but i suppose it depends on what spec your engine is?

seen a few on ebay, but have a looks under "works" escort and some should crop up. will go and have a look and see if any being offered at present.
