Think you may be correct first time. Look like genuine flat RS3100 wheel centres, However they do also look like 1600e Cortina type Rostyle centres. maybe they are the same apart from Rostyles have a black centre and Capri ones have the RS logo. Google it and you'll see.

Heres another question then ??? If I use a bike pump, which appear to have a plug with 2 wires ( assume neg and pos) will I need a relay or can I just find a live and earth and have an inline fuse ?? Cant say car electrics are my strong point, so if I need a relay any ideas on what would go where ?? Cheers again Rob

Im actually still using the pinto mechanical furl pump with a Sytec fuel regulator. I have it set right down to 0.5psi at mo !! It started at 2psi but even reducing it had no impact. I didn't know about the bike pump switching off and you can get new replacement R6 pumps on eBay for £20 so think thats gonna have to be looked at . Blue Ass In see you in East Mids too? Where abouts?

Will try and get some pics and video up but seem to have been locket out of my photo bucket account

Glad its not just me !!! i wonder if re starting it may help ?? Maybe with the bowls full of fuel it may have freed off floats ? Gonna have a tinker later and will get the the bottom of it as they look good and first impressions are they will be well.. Once the leaks sorted !! Strip and clean then later if no better.

Wow .. That is some price !!

yes fitted at an angle , they are keihin cvr carbs.. will check floats and valves and hopefully that will sort it . Runs lovely but just fuel dripping everywhere.
-
They are R6 carbs. Been running on a 2.1 Pinto . Gonna check needle valves and hopefully its just something silly. Just worried that as they've been chucked about by the courier that its something more sinister Will get some pics uploaded.

I've just fitted some bike carbs to my pinto. Supposedly fully working but arrived in a box that looked like 20 elephants had sat on with a second set of carbs damaged with various pieces of metal at the bottom of the box. The cars fired up and currently have a regulator set at 0.5 psi but there is fuel dripping quite badly out carb overflows when running. Anyone had experience of this at all? Could the box being used as a football have caused internal damage to them?

Wanted Twin 45s set up or Bike Carbs for Pinto
scootlife replied to scootlife's topic in OLD SKOOL FORD PARTS WANTED
Cheers for the update dt36. I have a Bestek set up on the car already but don't want to waster time/effort on bike carbs if a waste of time and getting mixed reviews. Thinking a nice new set of Weber 45s is the way forward . -

Just seen them on Ebay.. My only concern with bike carbs is you wont get the full chat and induction barrrppp that you get with Webers/Dellortos ?? I gather bike carbs are better for fuel and far superior but its all about the sound too !! -
Alternator wanted for 2.0 pinto
scootlife replied to scootlife's topic in OLD SKOOL FORD PARTS WANTED
All sorted now. Cheers -
Anyone got a spare working alternator suitable for a 2litre pinto engine? ideally nearish to Nottingham/Derby. Or know where to get a reasonably priced new one. Plenty on ebay around £40 but not convinced they will fit.

Agreed , was a well organised a great day out. Sadly we had to shoot off after the first run up to the Evo Triangle As the kids were not happy ... Can't really fault them, seeing as they had an hour and a half to Telford from Derbyshire. Then almost same again to Rhug estate, Then about an hour round the sheep !!! Lol Then it was just under 3 hours back via Nantwich and Stoke ..so felt it was best to make a smart and head off. About 7 hours in total. 2 tanks of fuel ...still knackered now !! Well done Ross, Aled and crew very well organised -

Lol.. pushed it out today... Started up and fuel leaking from carb... Now fixed .. handbrake sticking on offside , now sorted... Tried fixing dash as reads a quarter more than it should on fuel and temp gauge... Shorted it out by mistake... thought i'd killed the dash pod, but just a fuse , so thats sorted too. Looks like a bad earth so extra wire added and seems to be reading better Glad I made a start today and not waited till saturday afternoon .. -

Mines not moved in months, need to check oil water brakes etc etc. Trouble is I've a car port of scrap in front of my garage so need to shift that before i can even get the car out.. I wonder how many others are equally unprepared ???
