Excellent news. I too had the privilege of getting free tax for the first time this year. Sorned it on 30th . Goes to post office on wed the 01april, said I had an awkward one for them, and they laughed and said "not another classic tax one ??" They had obviously had a few that morning. Its just gutting that all I get is a receipt now and no longer a FREE tax disk !!! Tax refund already back from DVLA and in bank

Selling a metal round air box with twisty side spout and new air filter. This has been painted black. Have been told it was from a mk2 escort 1600 poss ghia/sport etc as it seems to fit a twin choke carb. Im sure it will fit any car fitted with a crossflow and twin choke whether its a mk1 or mk2 escort of any other Ford Very similar to original mk1 escort mexico one but without the £500 price tag !!! This one is round and the mex one is oval , but would be a good replacement if you've not got one or are using a plastic one. Got to be a bargain at just £20 Collection J26 of M1 or I can post out at cost .

Also, Ive just spoken to DVLA and they have confiemed so long as you SORN in march you will get the full tax back from 01 april onwards. And also no need to wait for V5 to come back as can take to local post office , fill in the change of tax class to "Historic" and they will issue free tax on 01April and send off V5 to swansea for you too ..

Yes mines registered may 74 built apr74. It will probably be typical DVLA nonsense that you can't change till after 01 april and then they wont give you aprils tax back like they do when selling car now. Question is do i sorn it now or at the end of the month? Then I've the hassle of waiting for new v5 to arrive before retaxing !! Or do I try to be clever and send it recorded delivery to arrive on the 01Apr ??? Cos I bet if I send it now for taxation class change it would be sent right back with a note saying too early !! Oh the joys of the DVLA

Im just about to sorn mine so i can get the remaining paid tax back, but might have to wait just to make sure it will be tax exempt from april. Any ideas on how and when they will get free tax and how do you apply ???

Ended up with 2 parcel shelves and this is now spare. Not the greatest and has some worn edges with gaffer tape repairs but not noticeable when in situ and rear seat in place. Its a bit speckly and has been sprayed over and looks ok from afar !!No speaker holes cut out and to be honest its better than not having one at all !!! No idea what to ask for it really, as they are getting difficult to find I can email pictures to you if you send me a message, I would have used it , but it came with a better one, and I didn't need to cut the other one in the end so used it, otherwise I would have used the tattier one if it needed cutting/drilling etc. The only issue would be collection as a bit bulky to post so would need to go in a largish box and that would cost probably as much as the shelf..

Do you still need one ?? I ended up with 2 and wont need the other one now. Not the best but better than nothing !! Cant really post it , so depends where you are too ?

From memory, mk1 rs alloy 70mm centre, mk2 rs alloy 63mm centre, laser 63mm centre, mk2 capri JPS 5.5 alloy 63mm centre. The capri jps wheels look the same as mk1 rs alloys and also only 5.5inch wide but with smaller hole centre.

Glad it's back. Scares me to death leaving mine anywhere that's not car show related or similar. I'm just pleased fir you it's back as really just assumed it would be abused and then torched which thankfully it wasn't. I've not got a huge stockpile of parts but do have a few bits so post up any bits you need and happy to send any down if I have them and can help.
