Disaster Part 2

Tried to fit my new rocker cover today. Every rocker touched the sides. And after some careful metal removal the springs were touching too !!!

 

I wanted it running today and its not. Thats put me a day behind as I still need to do some work and get it MOT'ed before the weekend !

 

Oh well straight back down the workshop tommorow after work for more of the same

Well, well done me for fixing the problems. Have been down the workshop again this evening and removed more metal until this damn rocker cover fitted !!

 

I happened to notice that the alternator belt was loose, the thead in the alternator on the top adjuster was shagged but fixed that too.

 

The car hasn't been started this year yet so I connected the battery and she fired up straight away .

 

I drove the car home and my new gearbox is the bollox, the car felt good.

 

When I got home I went into the house to get the missus to take me back down the workshop to pick up the Sport that I left down there. I moved the XR2 to make some room and noticed a pool of gear oil under the box

 

 

This has fcuked my plans up now !
