Burns Posted April 24, 2007 Report Posted April 24, 2007 does anyone else get big ideas in their head when visiting these little goldmines? basically i went to loomes' in derby with a few bits and pieces in mind and started getting ideas into my little head there was a fezza with a zetec just sitting there with the bonnet open inviting me to scheme. there were also mondeo's with the dohc engine which might make the fezza shift a little too anyone ever acted on any of these impulses?
Slik 50 Posted April 24, 2007 Report Posted April 24, 2007 You want to try working in one mate We had a fiat uno turbo in a few months ago and I had to keep telling myself no.
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted April 24, 2007 Report Posted April 24, 2007 When we were driving back on Sunday with you behind us, I said to Simon, what your fezza needs is a two litre Zetec in there.... Have a look at www.ZetecInside.com for instructions!

escortmad79 Posted April 24, 2007 Report Posted April 24, 2007 owning a scrapyard is like the ultimate career lol 90% of ppl would find that amusing, glad we all share the same wierd fantasies... It would've been back in the 80s/90s when Mk1 & 2 Escorts were a common sight in scrapyards. Imagine having a massive shed with loads of Escorts, Tinas, Granadas & Capris stored in that you could hoard to yourself Plus all the cars that came in that had 40s as standard, 1600 xflows as far as the eye could see & not having to pay stupid money for them... My God I want a time machine!!!
Cookie Posted April 24, 2007 Report Posted April 24, 2007 owning a scrapyard is like the ultimate career lol 90% of ppl would find that amusing, glad we all share the same wierd fantasies... Yes you are right, I always thought i was a lonesome freak wanting a scrapyard

negri Posted April 24, 2007 Report Posted April 24, 2007 too much red tape and euro legislation for it to be a good carrer these days . everything has to be tarmacked fluid collected and accounted for . metal seperated from the plastic . a licence to print money 20 years ago if you had a yard big enough .. even got good money for shells too , now you have to pay them to take it or you get about a fiver .
andrewg1323 Posted April 24, 2007 Report Posted April 24, 2007 Youre going to the wrong place! Cars are £60 a tonne here Got £66 last week for a car witha boot full of metal!
Richierich Posted April 24, 2007 Report Posted April 24, 2007 My God I want a time machine!!! Don't worry, getting one built, its gonna be crossflow powered...... but drum brakes all round!
105Nick Posted April 25, 2007 Report Posted April 25, 2007 Yeah, I always get excited by scrappers, especially old machinery. I went to a farm auction with my dad when I was little, almost bought a 1950s Commer commercial lorry for a fiver till I saw my dad's face. A guy we know who's a local farmer is into vintage tractors and always picks up unusual stuff, he's got a whjole farmyard to himself packed with weird and wonderful stuff, tried selling me three identical Rover P5 V8s and two identical Austin A35s, not to mention 1930s caterpillars and other stuff.
