escort21 Posted May 3, 2007 Report Posted May 3, 2007 The damping is more progressive as the damper travel is proportional to the axle movement......
Jimsiss Posted May 3, 2007 Report Posted May 3, 2007 does it help counter body roll in corners as when you corner the angled dampers do a better job of stopping roll than verticle ones that wouldn't move the same under the direction of the body roll? if that makes sense? well it does to me
Jimsiss Posted May 3, 2007 Report Posted May 3, 2007 either that or it just places the load directly over the tyres so that they grip better?
BIG G Posted May 3, 2007 Report Posted May 3, 2007 does it stop coffe cups coming out of the cup holders in the dash? or the cd player jumping so much. or maybe as the the suspension pivots it stops the damper rod from snapping under sideways forces on the rod or the bracket braking off the axle. and this allows the axle bracket to be further towards the wheel giving better strenght to the axle. but this all depends on what you use your motor for. but the again it would help with the cup holder problem
sambo Posted May 3, 2007 Author Report Posted May 3, 2007 Look at this guys, this is why i ask... Slightly angled inwards. Whats the pro's and cons then, im not sure if i understand!!
Retromotorsport Posted May 3, 2007 Report Posted May 3, 2007 the simple reason they are angled is to get the bottom of the damper close to the end of the axle and the top clears the tyre ......
RETRO_AL Posted May 3, 2007 Report Posted May 3, 2007 the simple reason they are angled is to get the bottom of the damper close to the end of the axle and the top clears the tyre ...... i was just about to say that
