Flaring arches

I was driving my car about and some old man came over for a little look and we got chatting. we were talking about the wings and i was sayin that mex wings fetch silly money nowerdays.

 

Anyways, he reckons a good body man could take those wings and flare them like mex ones seemed a bit funny to me he thougth people used to do it all the time! anyone heard of this or tried it?

I think expressed panels used to do RS flared arch wings by pressing or flaring the standard arch. Unfortunately it left the metal very thin and as I understand it the finished product wasn't up to much.

 

This is just hearsay though, I've never seen this done myself.

its not as hard as youd think.

 

as he said a good panel beater would piss it

 

the metal will go thin where it had beens stretched though so prob rust and bend easier.
