jay Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 it needs to be lower and without the lights then it will look the nuts [/img] yeah deffo lower.........
capritech Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 I don't like them with bubbles just de-chrome the sides and drop them 2" on nice rims
bashmk1 Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 capritech, that mk1 capri in the right of your sifg is gorgeous!!!
Jimbob-Squarepants © Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 nooooooo dont do it Seconded
escortmad79 Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 Nooooooo!!!!! Fit trailer arches ala George Polley!
Pipster007 Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 If all your arches are beyond reasonable repair, then go for it I quite like an arched Anglia, as it's not a common sight. Certainly not as common as an arched Escort
105Nick Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 Maybe that's cos the arches were made to go on an escort, & everyone remembers the rally cars, plus escorts make them look good, they dont look right on anglias - the anglia has lots of, well angular lines, fitting bubbles goes against it unlike the more curvy escort. If you want a modified just go south london style and spend it all on suspension & performance, then you can scare the kiddies at the lights. Take a look at Russ's Anglia above - its the dogs - nothing too obvious yet still pretty damn mental looking. Now ask would it have that effect with big bubbles on each corner? Me thinks they just look overdone.
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 Noooooo! Don't do it. As 105Nick says, they're not designed for big arches. Trailer arches don't look as bad, but you can't beat a standard looking anglia just ready to piss all over you at the lights.
Gareth Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 Look in th readers rides section of the latest cf. (I think) Theres a 105 from down under and that has flared arches but none ive seen before. It looks the b*llox on minilite copies
Retromotorsport Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 One thing i've always found about " sleepers" is given 2 engines putting out the same power the big rubber car will out perform on acceleration and cornering ... hence why performance cars tend to have bigger tyres than 175/50/13's Just an observation .. Infact .. i think 105E's look crap with front and rear Escort bubbles.. Much better with 4 fronts
bomber1 Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 if ur going 2do it u should be running 15s with rubber band tyres! just make it ur own!
Guest M.Bird DOHC Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 Dont do it, it ruins the original lines and classic shape
Morley Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 Keep your eye on Retro Ford Mags new project Anglia... Gonna be doing something a bit different
Wessie Posted October 5, 2006 Author Report Posted October 5, 2006 well i just saw some for sale and it got me wondering . . . im not definatly goin to do it, it was just an idea and i thought id ask you guys
fezza Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 At the end of the day eveyone has different ideas, some would live it and some would hate it but it does'nt matter what anyone thinks if you think it will look the nuts

105Nick Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 That looks like its gonna be a monster, yeah trailer arches work, bubbles dont imho. forest arches
