I've just upgraded my front brakes to 4 pots and now I need a new master cylinder to cope with the extra (I think I do, the brakes work but only at the bottom of the pedal, all bled and no leaks) 4 pistons. It's a mk1 1600 crapi and was wondering if any of you guys know what stuff I should get.

Spank you very much in advance

P.S Tis only single circuit so i'll probably dual circuit it at the same time

Well on my cortina i put 4 pots on and the brake travel didn't change, work out the area of the four pots vs the two pots and i think you'll find it only a small difference in fluid volume...

I did have a similar problem but that was worn rubbers in the calipers...instead of the pads being pushed to the discs and the rubbers holding them there the pads were being sucked all the way back as the pedal came up...something to check..took me ages to find it

The calipers have been refurbed and the old brakes were 2.8i items that were binding both sides and only 1 pot on each side was working. So I don't know if the pedal is supposed to be rock hard or not due to the fact that the fluid was only pushin half of what it should and so in actual fact i've got an extra 6 pistons up front. It will lock the wheels up when I push hard though

Catch me drift?

make sure that the rear dums are adjusted ok on the auto adjusters. Assuming there are no leaks or air in the system it shouldnt make that much difference
