This site is top and anything we can do to help Darren keep it going has got to be a bonus (plus get OSF contributor by ny name lol). petrolhead01 Posted May 28, 2007 Author Report Posted May 28, 2007 dont get me wrong mate i mostly agree with all of that. it shouldnt be enforced in any way though as its a contribution and not a tax you just dont know peoples financial siuations so shouldnt make them feel any less welcome than the paying population. the greatest thing about this site/club is that it never had a registration fee which is probably a major factor in the success of the site its well worth contributing to keep it running and as i say, most people will contribute of their own accord eventually because theyre part of it and love it. mate i agree but if you go back to the start of the thread i said this was my personal opinion and just wanted to bring to everyones attention the situation !!! no where in anything that i have written have i said that people have to pay but like the tin shakers in the street unless its brought to everyones attention most people just ignore it and if enough do that then i have to say it but there will be no more " old skool ford " and none of us would want that!!!!

In all truth, it's something that has been planned, discussed and put off for some time now and Darren and the other admin staff were always adamant that this would be voluntary. if you can't afford it, or don't want to do it right now then that is fine. The site will still be here for free, as it has always been. TBH I couldn't really afford the 12 quid. I know it's not a lot, but when you spend more than you earn on day to day living then £12 that isn't there is hard to find But if I think of the friendships that have come about through OSF, the contacts, advice, tech help, sourcing of parts and spares, the shows, the meets, camping , and just the all-round brilliantness of the OSF community and what it represents, and not forgetting the OSFDC!! Who else has that? I reckon a pound a month is dirt cheap, and worth every penny. Just my personal thoughts and feelings. Thanks everyone

I'm sure you pay the year subscription then once payed you can cancel it which you are only paid up for 365 days!! its totally secure so don't worry!!
