Rick Posted June 22, 2007 Report Posted June 22, 2007 its really bothering me that this is going to let me down/leak and all that im thinking of just bonding the glass in the frame and neatly sealing it round the edges. thus a non opening sunroof/ good idea/bad idea? cant afford or be arsed to fit a webasto before anyone suggests it
Admin Vista Posted June 22, 2007 Admin Report Posted June 22, 2007 I've seen it done but TBH mate it always looks pretty crap as no matter how careful you are you can see the sealant everywhere. Plus in my experience water always finds a way through the sealant eventually so you're back to square one but with a nasty gluey mess to clean up. I'd try it as is and see how you get on before committing to a decision. I remember fitting one of those Glass pop up roofs to my car in 1987, they were the must have accessory of the day! If only we knew then what we know now eh?
