Retromotorsport Posted June 25, 2007 Report Posted June 25, 2007 So according to Retro then The oldskoolford scene is naff because i don't like 17 inch chrome spinners , stripes and gull wing doors fitted on a mk1 escort . Well thank god the scenes "naff" then as i'd hate to be driving about in one of those "pollitically correct" modified escorts that nobodys allowed to say they don't like You are, of course, tainting my views with your biased views again Gaz. Its not the "scene " thats naff, its not the cars, be they modded or standard. Its the minority that slate anything that dosnt fit into their ideas. Some people reading this may think that we would never say 2 words to each other unles we are arguing .. but as we both know .. (Jetex couplings!!) we do say a few nice words. The major difference between us is i say your car looks the nuts, i also say that bigwinged striped up monster is the nuts, where as you'll say " you've ruined it " ... " in my opinion its crap" etc etc On other forums you'll get this ..... I was speaking to Ron from RK tuning a few months ago, we got to talking about Time Attack, he had just won a round , and he said that some of the mk1 and 2's out there would be good at it ... he builds Skylines, Like i said its the slating posts that to an outsider seem to show us in a bad light, like we are elitist.. better than all the rest. We're not.. we are however just one part of the whole Car Scene. HarrisHPE has summed it up quite well, if we was all in a pub together, there wouldnt be the " your nova looks shite with those 18" wheels on" We would however find some common ground to discuss .. the joys of TB's , what oil do we use in the screaming engines, .. you general petrol head stuff .

To any outsider reading this (as the first topic in osf chat!) there going to see us as a bunch of cocks. Which were not ! The bottom line is. If you have a problem with ppc, don't buy there mag ! Jarrod Agreed, plenty of views have been aired and shared. Some I agree with some I don't, but all are entitled to their own likes and dislikes. Me I've time for any petrolhead that wants to have fun on four (or two) wheels, their choice may not be to my taste but it's not my place to rubbish it. for every one of us that likes the classic scene there's one that likes the new school scene, who are we to proclaim that we are right and they're all wrong. I offer no apologies for locking this thread as I think pages and pages of toing and froing is counterproductive to us all. The moral of the story for me is, Big deal if PPC have put a one liner in their mag saying the scene is Naff, I like it and I don't care what anyone else thinks.
