Find a crack or peel back a little bit and spray in carb cleaner. Wait a while and peel back some more slowly. More spray and when you peel back pull it right back at 90 degrees ie: flat away from itself.

Tare it off, rip it up and destroy the ugly thing and the give your roof some much deserved paint. :D

yeh you will have to take windows out the reason y people say keep vinyl roof is if you have removed one you will no y it can be a lot of work to get it sorted

To do it properly the glass must come out as the vinyl is folded under into the inside & the rubbers trap it.

The way I removed one was to take a knife, make a cut then just keep tearing until it's gone. Steve did his the same way but didn't have trouble with the glue. I did though, nothing would shift it, thinners, acetone, in the end I used paint stripper which is a savage way of doing it as any splashes will ruin good paint.

Once it was off and the glue removed I took the glass out at the last possible minute & sealed/painted the whole lot in one go.

thats mean...i love my vinyl

Nothing personal Antz but I had a 1976 MK2 Escort with a vinyl roof and it was in bad shape so I decided to remove it and paint the roof instead. When I removed the vinyl I was shocked to see how much rust damage there was to the roof under the two stitched seems of the vinyl running the length of the roof.

I was glad I found the rust when I did and since then I not really been a great fan of vinyl roofs.
