RUSTYPUP Posted July 17, 2007 Report Posted July 17, 2007 If I had a pound for every time I am asked that question!! I had a bloke come rushing over to me today when I pulled into the pub car park. He says "Ere, is that a 1600E?" Me: " No, it's a super" Nob said "uh" in a truely disappointed way and walked away! I've had exactly that happen loads of times. I can't understand how people can get soooo excited about an E and yet so not interested about a Super, especially with all the obvious mods it's had done. I had a laugh at him and still enjoyed my pint!
johnny_h Posted July 17, 2007 Report Posted July 17, 2007 You could apply that to most OSF's. I always get "is it a real one?" I say "what, a real car?" Nobs

orionmojo Posted July 17, 2007 Report Posted July 17, 2007 i get that all the tme in mine, is that the E? yeah it is. oh cool, is it a proper one? eejits!!
RUSTYPUP Posted July 17, 2007 Author Report Posted July 17, 2007 I get less attention when I'm in Nicola's genuine E though. So these weirdos are attracted by the car and flashy paint, but then totally turned off by its lack of E badge!
Gareth Posted July 17, 2007 Report Posted July 17, 2007 I got 'Life on Mars!! huh huh huh!!' Shouted at me from across a car park theother day..... Yes mate, I've seen the series too Next time I might just shout back 'Starsky and Hutch!!'

Jimbob-Squarepants © Posted July 17, 2007 Report Posted July 17, 2007 All I seem to get is: Person = Is that an Injection mate??? Me = Erm... yes Person = Is it a 2.8??? Me = Can you not see the badges???? Fool!!! I have yet to have the famous "Is that a Triumph Herald?" when I am out in the Anglia, but that might have something to do with the fact that it's constantly in the Naughty Corner
sab6024 Posted July 17, 2007 Report Posted July 17, 2007 I had some guy ask me if my Capri was the 2.9 one once. To which I replied "no it's a 1600 and Ford never produced a 2.9 Capri". Muppet replied "Yeh they did, I had one when they were new" I suggested he come back when he knew what he was talking about

ZetecVan 2.0 Posted July 18, 2007 Report Posted July 18, 2007 I have yet to have the famous "Is that a Triumph Herald?" when I am out in the Anglia, I've got a video somewhere from 1990 when I was on an Anglia Owners Club day out in Haworth. It was decided to drive down the famous street (It was a sunday and it was heaving with people) and I was to video it. The cars appear and people stop and turn. Someone clearly says 'Look, they're all the same make. Are they Triumph Heralds'. I've had a couple of people ask what my van was because they've never seen one, and there are no badges on it.
antz Posted July 18, 2007 Report Posted July 18, 2007 i get the following: person: is it running a 2 litre? me: no its a 1.3 person: oh....i used to have a 2 litre. or: person: nice escort me:thanks person: shame its a 4 door. you wanna get a 2 door me: i prefer the 4 door thanks (thinking fook OFF though) or even: person: is it an rs2000? me: no its a 1300 ghia person: oh...i alwasy liked the rs2000 and this one at work: person: has it broke down recently? me: no its very reliable person: yeah right me: fook off you drive a....(insert gay car) argh!!!!
