H.P.E harry Posted July 25, 2007 Author Report Posted July 25, 2007 Well i went to the rollers at sanspeed yesterday and couldnt believe what the output was, 115bhp to start off with ! My cousin laughed when he first see the read out because ive already ran a 14.2 quarter when i was so down on power. After soughting and testing a few things out i ended up coming away with only 123 bhp! I took it down my road when i got back and i could really notice a difference with an extra 8 bhp. Well i guess its time to up the power now and see what quarter i can get, maybe a mid 13 would be nice !
Guest turbo2 Posted July 25, 2007 Report Posted July 25, 2007 yeah was funny ! its all in the cam timing and fuel harry , we'll do it at the weekend . it'll deffo be in the 140s then................
andypipe Posted July 26, 2007 Report Posted July 26, 2007 I would assume that that is flywheel figure. What spec is the engine?
H.P.E harry Posted July 26, 2007 Author Report Posted July 26, 2007 Yeah thats at the wheels, If you look at everyones comments in this post you will see the spec that my grandad has built it at. So how much you selling that bottom end for then andypipe?
Joe Little Posted July 26, 2007 Report Posted July 26, 2007 what is the flywheel power, do you have a big transmission loss? what gearbox and diff ratio are you using Cheers Joe
cledus Posted July 26, 2007 Report Posted July 26, 2007 I think it sounds about right. I have seen a couple of big power crossflows on the rollers and in action various hillclimb championships. The most I have seen at the wheels is 150 to 155, all steel throttle bodies, running total loss (no alternator), dry sumped. It was an Anderson motor. I have some footage of it launching at a hillclimb on video, and it is unbelievable (I would put it up if I knew how). What plans have you got Mr. Pipe. I hope it is another pushrod!! Good luck with the revised fuelling Harry, and when you move to a Pinto, let me know how much you'd sell your pushrod for.
H.P.E harry Posted July 27, 2007 Author Report Posted July 27, 2007 Ive got a 1600 sport box with a 4.1 diff, the bloke at sanspeed said that it sounds like the cam timing has jumped so im taking my car down to my cousins workshop on sunday and were going to have a look and see. If it is that and its timed up again plus a few other bits are done than im looking at about 140+bhp. We will have to wait and see.
andypipe Posted July 27, 2007 Report Posted July 27, 2007 What plans have you got Mr. Pipe. I hope it is another pushrod!! Its still a push rod. Not saying to much at the moment
James HPE Motorsport Posted July 28, 2007 Report Posted July 28, 2007 Dont worry Harry, we WILL get it sorted and you WILL be in the 13's very shortly! We'll have a good old butchers at it on sunday! Good old Peter at Sanspeed does know his stuff! Went rollers today and he managed to squeeze 14bhp out of her from 151 to 165! Well chuffed to say the least!
