FlashCadillac Posted July 18, 2007 Report Posted July 18, 2007 Im going to pick up an engine from twinks next week and i wanted to know if anyone could give me any advice on how to secure it in the car http://www.oldskoolford.co.uk/phpBB2/vi ... highlight= its only a 997 so its going to be a very slow drive home... on one hand my step dad tells me i should do what he used to do and get an old matress (which i have) and wrap it around the engine like a swiss roll... therefore it cant really roll anywhere and will do a lot less damage if it slides into somthing the only thing is the engine is still full of oil and i dont want 5Lof oil all over the car the other option being prop it upright in the car with some bits off wood and try and secure it Any advice anyone??? Thanks Mark
old skool freestyler Posted July 18, 2007 Report Posted July 18, 2007 if there is a spair wheel holder in the boot put the wheel in the car with the engine in the wheel bowl bit if not than matress and ratchet straps
supersport Posted July 18, 2007 Report Posted July 18, 2007 take the back seat out and put the engine there, shouldn't go any where then. i've done it before.
Twinkle Posted July 18, 2007 Report Posted July 18, 2007 m8 dont worry about it!! will sort it just bring ratchet straps! if it comes to it we can drain the oil
Gareth Posted July 18, 2007 Report Posted July 18, 2007 You could drain the oil out and lay it down Then it wont move at all
Guest cortinamad-gonetoo Posted July 18, 2007 Report Posted July 18, 2007 drain the oil and either wedge it in or strap it down i uysually just wedge them in
