escortmad79 Posted July 19, 2007 Report Posted July 19, 2007 I got myself a new toy yesterday!! I still have the plastic but I couldn't help myself... 1969 Mk1 1100 Deluxe Estate in Aquatic Jade green, still got its original strut tops, 58000 miles from new, family owned since 1972. 54bhp & drum brakes all around but I still had a mahoosive grin on my face driving back from Teignmouth, through Torquay & Paignton & then home. Saw at least 2 people point & mouth "A MK1!!!" I'm back in an Old Skool Ford!! Go on the Sportwagon!!!!!!

Admin Vista Posted July 19, 2007 Admin Report Posted July 19, 2007 So how was the wicked witch of the Powderham show when you went to buy it then? Did you have to convince her you weren't a boy racer? It must have been tough for them to see it go, they'd owned it since nearly new hadn't they? Go on, what did you get them down to price wise?
escortmad79 Posted July 19, 2007 Author Report Posted July 19, 2007 I got it for cheaper than I offered at the show Didn't see her when I went to pick it up, just him. Got some plans for it but don't think it will happen for a wee while
Guest cortinamad-gonetoo Posted July 19, 2007 Report Posted July 19, 2007 come on then whats the plans
bomber1 Posted July 19, 2007 Report Posted July 19, 2007 wanted that myself but to many cars as it is droped on wide steels and a hot x-flow is all that needs
escortmad79 Posted July 19, 2007 Author Report Posted July 19, 2007 May fit a Cossie lump, lower it with Lotus steels, proper sleeper style although the people I got it from were adamant that they didn't want it to be trashed!!!
escortmad79 Posted July 19, 2007 Author Report Posted July 19, 2007 that looks mint Not far off it, been well looked after
Nettles Posted July 20, 2007 Report Posted July 20, 2007 Well done fella that looks well clean. Get it slammed
Gareth Posted July 20, 2007 Report Posted July 20, 2007 M8 that's real tidy!!! Whats the plans for it then
RUSTYPUP Posted July 20, 2007 Report Posted July 20, 2007 Never seen one in Aquatic Jade. I rather like it
escortmad79 Posted July 20, 2007 Author Report Posted July 20, 2007 Never seen one in Aquatic Jade. I rather like it Neither have I, original colour but it was resprayed in 1999 (Could do with being done again as it's scratched here & there & has a few rust patches on the doors, bonnet & A post. May stick a Cossie lump in it but have this niggling voice in the back of my mind telling me that it's a shame to molest such a tidy/original version. But doubt I'll put up with the 54bhp 1100 crossflow & drum brakes all around for too long!!
stephens_xpack Posted July 20, 2007 Report Posted July 20, 2007 Can understand that. Putting a cossie in it is not trashing it. That with lowering and a good set of steels sounds cool but subtle. Would you repaint the same colour, as it is kind of unique - i like
