It can be done m8, BUT it is not any good for the car, you risk damageing stuff, so you pays yor money and takes your chances so to speak .

Only auto i know you can bump start is the old P6 rover, they had a reserve tank and when you ran out of petrol you turned the reseve on and bumped the engine back into life if going over 30 (hand book explained how to do it) don't know if any other makes can do it :?

something to do with have a low stallspeed torque converter was it ?? or higher ?

In theory, its not possible.

The reason why you cant, is because the engine runs the oil pump directly off the input shaft. Without oil pressure theres no friction between plates/bands therefore no drive back into the engine to turn it over. Plus, turning an auto box over with no pressure aint a good idea.

The gearbox in your car may well be different though, and for all i know, the pump could be run off the output shaft, althoguh i somewhat doubt it.

On some of our vehicles (Voith boxes) there is a bolt which can be screwed in and locks a certain relay thingy in (sorry, forgot their proper name) which gives you a constant drive through 1st gear. It maight be possible that your box has this, and you can bump start it. Although i wouldnt recomend it.

although its probably physically possible if going the right speed the toque converter is not designed too run that way and would probably fook the box up....
