was a great day i only watched the track action once and that was when i heard the lovely sound of u nutters. unlucky fiestasteve what went wrong witht the engine ?

simon

Lack of lube on right hand bends (which is most of them), common problem on FWD x-flow's.

Needs to be dry sumped to get the best from it.

Was I the only one on track ?, I didn't see any cars until I pulled off

was a good day, iwas the first on the stand at 630  ,was a long week for me i drove the mk1 from norfolk to blackpool then loads inbetween(prob about 800 miles total) then all the way down to fordfair with no probs

then fooking thing cutt out when just going on to the track(i know what it is,its a loose ign wire )

anyway got it going thank god,but i was all alone on the track very nervous was not sure were i as going  (didnt get a map lol )

then it cutt out again on the bend before the big straight  rolled to a near standstill then it came to life again, got a few more runs round the track  then she was fine all the way home

thanks to the lad(sorry forgot who you are) in the capri next to me for letting me fill his boot with my junk before the track action

Its was good to see so many osf in one place. There were some superb examples to enjoy. The down side for me was the amount of plastic about. (I know.. Ford Fair is like this) However i havent done this show for a few years and decided to give it onother go. Unfortunatly plastic and chrome brake disks are still the highlight of the show.

My son and i loved the osf on the track. (Running him in gently, He`s only 9 months old.) He watched the Escorts and Capris flying round the track but when the Lotus's turned out, he'd turn round and eye up someone walking past.

I dont think i will be attending this show next year, The contant drone of tortured speakers and seeing 20+ Focus's on one stand that were the same colour with the same wheels parked exacly 22 inches apart has been firmly imprinted in to me for life.

I will definatly be sticking to Classic Ford.

Keep our osf on the road, not wrapped in cotton wool.

:lol::lol:

MY thoughts exactly!! Much as the RS Focus is a nice car, having a big heap of them in one place just ISN'T interesting!!

Yeah too much plastic, too many Mondeos with chav body kits and flourescent paint being driven by idiots!!

Well impressed with the cars on our stand though :thumbsup:

Classic all the way! :D [/b]

was an awesome day - my first time. But I'd have to admit I agree with the thoughts on the plastic piles! As we walked around and came to that big sea of focus blue even the mrs (who loves the focus STs) just said, seen one, seen em all and walked the other way.

great day though, and got me windscreen sticker

ive been to every ford fair for the last 8/9 years and to be honest the only thing i was interested in this year was osf that track session was great to watch and the cars where faster than most of the other sessions thecf stand was good but the rest of the show is a case of seen one seen them all perhaps its time for classic ford fair or even retro ford fair ?put some yank fords in to beef the croud up ? what you recon

Anyone see the nice type 49, very bare shell in primer on the Roy Nunn stand? Yours for a measley £10000.00  . where as you could have had Mogsmex's very nice looking and more importantly complete ready to go MK1 RS2000 for around £9500.00. When i asked how much he wanted for it i wasn't surprised at his price as i know his work is good but he ain't cheap. What i was suprised at was his comment to justify the price, he said if you put a twin cam or BDA in it and it would be automaically worth £35k. £35k for what in all honesty would be replica, :? .

I used to like the RS focus but after seeing evreyone ever made all lined up in a row ive been put right off, cant see how they think it looks good! Getting onto the osf's now, loved the track action and the osf club stands, Really showed all the chaved up cars and the chavs what old skool was about! Wicked show

Just sheer greed getting the better of people I'm afraid! There's no denying a straight type-49 shell is worth a few quid- but 5-figure sums ferchrissakes!! :? People getting hold of mk1/2 escort parts, hoarding them and trying to bump prices up is just ruining the scene for anyone else trying to get on the old skool ford scene (it cost me enough!! :( )

I agree with the comments about the Classic Ford show too - far better than Ford Fair - Bring on next year's!!:thumbsup:

I agree totally. its starting to put me off a bit TBH, some people (traders) begining to act like Harry Enfields loads off dosh character. I know for a fact that some traders are buying the not so rare parts for big money to hoard and push up the value and rarity of the bits they already have. I don't like it but i can understand their motivation to do it.
