First of all just like to say a personal thanks for taking part :thumbsup: Well done everyone

Now

Who would do it again or something similar, I know Tony(Petrolhead) said he would nt, but i m sure i could persuade him :lol:

And while we re at it, Please explain your track experiance at Ford Fair, How did your car perform too much understeer or oversteer etc :lol::mrgreen:

I started out front , when the saftey car pulled off on the first lap I floored it as you would. I looked in the rear view mirror and just saw empty track :lol::lol:

I slowed right down to let everyone catch up as I didn't want to be driving round by myself.

I had a yellow escort behind me for a while but he didn't come past, after a while of him being behind me I though i'd shut off extra early for a bend a let him through.

He came past then lost it on the corner, so I went back up on the inside

Then a different yellow escort came flying up behind, clearly faster than me so I pulled to the right and it was Matt , he came past so fast I was going to get out as I thought i'd stopped

My oil light was coming on on right hand bends as the oil surged, as the track time was only short I tried to ignor it

I then started lapping a few cars, don't remember anyone coming past only Matt in his escort.

I didn't know the track at all, I was coming into corners far to fast sometimes as I had no idea how fast I could take them. On one corner, the one at the pit lane exit, the left hander, I got severe understeer as I entered it far to fast. I almost had it full lock and it keep sliding so I slowly unwound the lock and just managed to find grip before I found the gravel. That was the only moment I had. Apart from that it was all good, a bit of understeer on the slow bends but nothing much. Brakes were good, didn't really use them much

Then I heard a strange sound from the engine and knew instantly that I killed it. I pulled off straight away as I didn't know if I was dropping oil on the track. It wasn't leaking any oil and I don't think there was any smoke.

I'm guessing that its the crank, probably spun a bearing or something so hopefully nothing too drastic.

Anyhow, I then had the best track side view of the track action !

...and yes, i'd deffinatly do it again, just need to sort the engine out first

think ive found my new love ............the track  my car seemed to out handle me which is good and the brakes dident fade , was a bit difficult to judge to speed as i dident have a speedo but realy enjoyed it and would do another track session .... i just need some proper lessons from an instructor , would like to do an 1 on 1 course in my own car , ive looked on there website and they do days starting from £175 which i think is a small price to pay for properly learning your own car !! nice one for sorting it out :ykt:

it was brilliant but the only proplem was my car was about the slowest thing out there in that sesion yet it still slid around a bit and i was having a brilliant time until all the fast cars appeared in my rear view mirror and were past before i new it and i was sweating me tits off in it

apart from that i would do it again but need to make my car handle better and a little bit faster :ykt:

would defo do it again!

thought i did pretty well for my diddy 1.3! stuck to the back of deltamel all the time.

wasnt too sure about corners but it definately griped right round them all except one when i took it WAY TOO FAST and the whole car stepped sideways

i had the exact same problem on that corner, managed to keep 2 of the wheels out of the gravel at least

had a good time thrashing the smallest engine out there, would definately do it again

seriously shat me up when that lotus went past, what was he doing on the track

cheers for organising it ian

mine cuttout just as we was all pulling out of the pits :(

anyway managed to get her started (dodgy ign wire i should have fixed long time ago but its been fine for ages) everyone must have been nearly round already by the time i got out

anyway soon as i got on the track it was a bit of a shock to be honest,i never got map read so had no idea of the bends lol

anyway she cutt out again on one of the bad bends before the straight  got her going again but was very worried it would do it again

overall it was a very good and the car had no problems going rounds the bends, shit loads of grip :D

wish i had a bit longer on the track as 15mins was way to short(cant complain at £10 tho)

also towards the end just before the red light there was a very strong hot burning smell, turns out my pipe on the bottom of the turbo to the sump had split and was spitting oil all over the downpipe :o

just fixed this and im not ready for my second trackday tomorwow at snetterton :ykt:

i think we need a fullday trackday so we can get more practise

I really enjoyed it too,if i had more grip i could pushed it harder, but i had fun feathering the throttle all the time still

I definately think the atmo cars are better around the track, less power and more grip works well :ykt:

loved it and thanks ian for sorting it out m8.had bad troubles with understeer in the slower and faster corners and i sufferd the same as kev with grip was spinning up all over the shop, when hitting 4th on the main straight  .had trouble passing steve in the black fiesta, you was moving my friend as you said had an off coming into one of the tighter bends when the back locked up when hard braking and it came round but it was excellent fun.cossie matts motor is simply awesome on track and i think you would need a proper bit of kit to match him imo.defo doing more tho.tops :mrgreen:

Great fun!! I too had no speedo so had no idea what speed I was approaching bends!, suffered massive understeer also, think the front is a bit too soft? Had a couple of 'moments' one was on that same first corner (thnk it's called Stowe), was braking really hard had to just let off the brakes before they locked and just pointed the car at the apex and phew!! just made it round! Car felt like it was leaning alot in bends, probably due to soft front end!! was good fun tho :thumbsup:

Brill, will deffo do it next time, the corty's good on the straights, but hard work on corners, even with its suspension sorted, heavy car, getting the rear five linked soon this at least will stop it tramping up the strip! :) but the track is a real buzz :D:thumbsup:
