vinyl roof kit

im looking into fitting a vinyl roof to the escort but i dont wana buy some cheap shit kit that doesnt fit

 

iv heard many stories, i need facts

 

anyone ordered a good one, and where from

Actually If you're gonna fit a vinyl roof (and I do like them) you're as well to plate over the sunroof and stick the vinyl over the top as it easily hides a multitude of sins. And rightly or wrongly, pop up sun roofs always come in for criticism from some people.

 

As to where to get one from? I wouldn't buy a kit at all as they're almost always rubbish. Go to a professional vehicle upholsterer and ask them to make you one the job you'll get will many times better and worth the extra expense. My Mk1 Capri one came back looking like it was straight from the factory. Unfortunately you can't really tell from the photo, but it was top quality.

I ordered one for mine from Aldridge trimming.

 

It was sh1te. so i sent it back and got a local firm to do the job for me, i think i paid £150... money well spent for me, as i couldnt have done it this good myself.
