boXXer Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 im in exactly the same position on my series 1. I need to get the wheel off as the tyres bald.
Guest cortinamad-gonetoo Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 hammer and punch it takes ages but works
fordtina3 Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 if the worse comes to the worse, you are gonna have to drill them out. but you can get a stud extractor and the wind into the stud left-hand thread so as they tighten up, they undo the stud. most auto factor shops do them. if its a nut, then hammer and cold chisel. you could also drill them out but have a new stud on standby......
flyingbanana Posted August 16, 2007 Author Report Posted August 16, 2007 WHAT STYLE OF LOCKING NUT ARE THEY 8 pin..on the outer edge...i found this but no price http://www.lockingwheelnutremover.com/p ... range.html also these but not much detail http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LOCKING-WHEEL-NUT ... dZViewItem
Tom Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 post a pic of them mate. you need a 12 point socket a little bit smaller, pref a imperial or whitworth and smack it on. Put your breaker bar on it and keep hitting it as you turn it off. this has always work for me
Mart Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 dunno if they still make em and what the supply like is to local motor factors but try em anyway, ask for a gaitor grip socket. its a socket that has spring loaded pins as yo push it onto said object all the pins in contact push up and others stay down aound the outer edge always worked for me in the past, wheel thiefs favourite tool although their not as good on the locking wheel nuts with 3 pins P.S i know this from personal experience of removing my own wheels and nobody elses
Tom Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 those 3 pin lockers are soft as shite (had them on my old fezza) 18mm socket worked every time

Mart Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 12 point socket instead of being a hexagon shape ie 6 corner points has 12 corner points so means you have more points of contact
lee_capri Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 bash a socketon it that just a tag undersized or lump hammer and small coal chisseal some times only takes a good wack or can tack ages done no end this way
Mart Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 just thought of another way, if you've got an arc welder (your an osfer so you should have ) get a standard nut and tack it onto your locking wheel nut then just use correct size socket for the standard nut, done this one myself efore now
