How much in total would one need to spend to get a Cossie Turbo / NA under their bonnet of their marky1? Including gearbox mods, and body mods??

Is there much price difference between fitting the above to lets say an XE or Zetec??

There's so many different ways and types of car specs to answer your question but a cossie engine bolts straight into a mk1 escort engine bay using standard cheap ford bits if required  My N.A. cossie is in a standard x-member , standard rs2000 engine mounts , standard rs2000 alloy bellhousing on a 5 speed gearbox ( if using a cossie steel 9 bolt crank then you need a smaller flywheel to fit inside rs bell housing but if using the cossie T5 gearbox then you don't need the flywheel but have to chop up your car and fit a big tunnel to get the gearbox to fit ), standard tunnel , standard rs2000 propshaft , no body mods only a sliced radiator /slam panel to fit radiator and i've trimmed the bulkhead lip instead of hammering it down like ford did , you also can use the rs2000 sump if you like or cut and weld the sierra one to fit the escort but if doing trackdays/motorsport etc then best get a dry sump set up or proper baffled aftermarket one from H.T. racing etc

and what sort of power do they produce?
Mines got more than 260 bhp  220 bhp is easy enough though without turbos

Well, from the list above Gaz, it seems like I have most of the parts already!

RS Engine Mounts

RS Sump

Alloy Bellhousing

5 Speed

Single Piece Prop

My rad panel is already cut for the radiator

I've even got a 205 Pinto bottom end

So whats left to get?

That's the beauty of going YB power from a pinto , you don't need much in the way of parts to fit it into the car if staying N.A. but you'll need alot more mods if you go for a high power turbo job . You can fit a cossie head on your pinto bottom end but this depends on the rpm of the projected engine build ( pinto crank and rods 7500 revs , cossie steel crank and rods 8500+ revs ) . what are you after first , turbo or N.A. ?

Not sure... I was only having a think about it because I'm taking out the engine in a few weeks time to do a bit of resto so I was just summing it up whether it would be worth while and if it would be costly?

Your best just buying the engine bits seperatly as you don't use alot of the turbo cossie bits for N.A. use . Also any old pinto block will do as well . Plenty of skimmed YB heads on ebay which the turbo lot can't use anymore , cranks , rods , etc are all on ebay every day as well
