HOLBAY ENGINE

Has anyone heard of a HOLBAY 1600 CROSSFLOW and if yes what can you tell me about them and if they are worth getting cheers lads.DARREN

Had a Holbay engine in my escort when i got it 1600 x-flow,Holbay now called Coltec & a local company in Suffolk. They used to & still do make some good race engines,my old x-flow was very lairy. My mate has it in an anglia now & its still going strong

Hi mate how you doing,do you know what the spec`s were or did they differ,been offered it what do you think dont know what to do with it but just thinkin of sticking in the garage for a rainy day and we have had plenty of them

The specs vary alot,mine had a overbore to 1700 & holbay profiled there own cam for it & done alot of head work on it. It was a very quick & strong engine. Obviously depending on price & condition id go for

A friend of mine has a holbay pinto in his RS and it recently made 157bhp with 40's. only a 2.0 too.
