bomber1 Posted September 2, 2007 Report Posted September 2, 2007 nice one sam i do get this when im in the lorry. but with 410 horses under my right foot they do come a cropper sometimes
bomber1 Posted September 2, 2007 Report Posted September 2, 2007 410? sounds like its a DAF then? spot on its a 07 plate 8legger quick for a lorry off the mark tho when u get to 56 its like hitting a brick wall
antz Posted September 2, 2007 Report Posted September 2, 2007 i hate people overtaking cos you are in a old car! once had a merc ovetake me 5 times then i floored it and left him! i get about 160miles to £20 worth of fuel. not bad for me cos i do thrash its little heart out!
Chris! Posted September 2, 2007 Report Posted September 2, 2007 i get about 200 miles out of a tank and it costs me £60 to fill
shortie Posted September 2, 2007 Report Posted September 2, 2007 i don't really keep track, i put petrol in, thrash it around, needles points to red so put more petrol in!! Only problem is it seems to point to red quite a lot but hey, why worry about it, i do enough to keep the carbon footprint down so my car is my way of sticking 2 fingers up at "the Greens".
Copey Posted September 3, 2007 Report Posted September 3, 2007 410? sounds like its a DAF then? spot on its a 07 plate 8legger quick for a lorry off the mark tho when u get to 56 its like hitting a brick wall that would be them darn restricters then!! ir are they only on artics??
Super_Shaun Posted September 3, 2007 Report Posted September 3, 2007 410? sounds like its a DAF then? spot on its a 07 plate 8legger quick for a lorry off the mark tho when u get to 56 its like hitting a brick wall that would be them darn restricters then!! ir are they only on artics?? No we have them fitted to all our fleet of bus's at the depot. Although a few from back in the day havent been touched and you can get 70+ out of a 38foot bus which is fun slowing it down can be almost as much fun. messenjah I also seem to get about 100-130 out of £20 but she gets driven quite hard sometimes and its a 4.1 diff so no long gears.
bmxdave Posted September 3, 2007 Report Posted September 3, 2007 Yeah, tourque out of those big dafs is immense, and theyd definately scare most cars off the mark without a trailer. The latest rules (i think) are that all artics are limited, local service buses are limited, none local services are unlimitied and all coaches are limited to about 75mph. Some of our unlimited double decker cummins engined volvos can easy sit at 70mph, and the early dennis darts will do 65 easy, but they have a tendancy to go pop if they do so for too long. Its great seeing peoples faces as you fly past doing 65 in a double decker.
Gibson Posted September 5, 2007 Report Posted September 5, 2007 i get about 200 miles out of a tank and it costs me £60 to fill Lucky Bugger.... i get 190
Josh_gsy Posted September 5, 2007 Report Posted September 5, 2007 just to annoy you all i pay 60p/ltr for petrol!!!!!
Pye Man Posted September 5, 2007 Report Posted September 5, 2007 Go on Sam 300miles-£25ish in the lil 1.1 P reg Freddy. But I do drive it like a grandad
Speedy1 Posted September 5, 2007 Report Posted September 5, 2007 Only drove the festa 7 miles home so don't really know what that will do. My mk1 mondy will do 90 miles to a tenner but that is a modern car.
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted September 5, 2007 Report Posted September 5, 2007 Top stuff...! does anyone else get prats that insist on overtaking you after you pass them just because youve just breezed past in some old banger..... Yeah I blasted past a Civic Type R the other week on the M606, uphill at about 90. He wasn't happy, and flew past me as I was slowing down because the motorway was ending.
