RFChris Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 ....tomorrow, my Cortina becomes....... MY DAILY DRIVE!!!!!!! Well, just till the end of the month. SOMEONE, (not naming names.....Laura) forgot to add the VAT onto our wedding invoice, so the money from the sale of the SRi has gone to that. She won't drive the Cortina, so i have to. Should be, urm, interesting.
MK5 Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 and what is wrong with having a Cortina as a daily driver... i have done for 3 years - current Corty for 2 of them
Slik 50 Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 Gial mate, I dont think your daily covers about 3000 miles a month
Admin Vista Posted September 4, 2007 Admin Report Posted September 4, 2007 Good luck mate, at least you'll get any niggles worked out quickly!
RFChris Posted September 4, 2007 Author Report Posted September 4, 2007 and what is wrong with having a Cortina as a daily driver... i have done for 3 years - current Corty for 2 of them Nothing...except this is MY Cortina....therefor, it will break.
sab6024 Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 Ah you'll be alright. I used to do 30,000 miles a year in my Capri. Spent most Thursday's with my brother being checked over for problems though
mk2 stu Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 hmmm good luck mate, i feel sorry for morley, all those morning phone calls "sorry mate i've broken down" "what! again, well we'll just have to forget the gorgeous models shoot for the next issue!" "wow! hang on its suddenly started and i'm on my way!!!!"
Deano1351 Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 Take a spare tool kit, a fan belt, some oil, some water and a bible, it'l be fine
Daveyboy20 Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 And maybe a spare clutch ratchet and an extra arm....
RFChris Posted September 4, 2007 Author Report Posted September 4, 2007 And maybe a spare clutch ratchet and an extra arm.... Now y'see, i'm okay there. It has a sub 50 mile clutch and a 5 speed box. Tracking though.....well, that another thing.
fordtina3 Posted September 5, 2007 Report Posted September 5, 2007 i use a mk3 2 litre gt corty as my daily drive. reliable and honest and its fun just cruising and watching everyone drive past craning their necks to have a look. my wife refuses to get in and we have to use our pug 406 if we go out but corty fine. you'll be ok. just no racing and she'll last....
Gareth Posted September 5, 2007 Report Posted September 5, 2007 My mk3 2.0 GXL's my daily motor, and she's never let me down :D Helluva better drive than any modern cr@p It may break down, granted, but modern cars break down too, I see more modern machinery on the roadside than old skool. You'll love it Chris m8... :D
lotusless Posted September 5, 2007 Report Posted September 5, 2007 nice one m8 i'm trying to sell my german daily driver + go old skool daily too
