johnny_h Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 My dizzy broke this afternoon on a very quiet backroad in the country. I didn't know it was the dizzy until I had a nose under the bonnet. Seems the screws had vibrated loose causing it to move and the rotor arm to smash into one of the terminals and shear off the plastic locating tab inside and also smash the dizzy cap into several parts I thought I was FOOKED. Miles from anywhere and skint too. After about 30 mins of trying to will the thing back together I found some superglue and had an idea I got as many fragments as I could find and glued the thing back together and also the rotor arm to the spindle. It only flippin worked and got me all the way home! I LOVE osf's!

johnny_h Posted October 23, 2006 Author Report Posted October 23, 2006 My condolences mate. Do you work in the snazzy ripspeed part having to deal with chavvy corsa drivers that say they wan't a set of 20 inch rims for thier ride but end up nicking some shiny dust caps instead?
bobmk1 Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 my rotor snapped once and we managed to fix it with a cable tie gotta love an oldskool bodge
Retromotorsport Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 Super Glue.... Marvelous stuff, saved me many hours waiting in A&E waiting for a few stiches... leaves less of a scar too if you get the edges right. The cut on my head from last thursday is all but gone now, and that was all but down to the bone. (take note, I dont get sick pay, anyone who does, go to the hospital and get stiches. )
Morley Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 my rotor snapped once and we managed to fix it with a cable tie gotta love an oldskool bodge Cable ties are an essential part of anyones tool kit... You can fix anything with a cable tie
