i have just brought some webers 45s and was wonderin what the best stuff is to clean them up as they are all tarnishd and grubby.

Ultimate way to clean carb's is to use an ultrasound tank. This uses a non-solvent solution and high frequency vibration to shake the crap loose. Alternatively a toothbrush and petrol is the low cost answer. taking the usual precautions with the petrol.

when you finish cleaning the check the pump lets se if they all work properly cause you will have a problem starting the engine

Don't people put webers in the dishwasher to clean them? Is that a bad idea?

Its dangerous to clean carbs in the dishwasher.I tried it and got a nasty pain in my head.Something to do with wife armed with a saucepan Carb body came out ok though.

i sandblasted the outside area of mine...my mate use petrol....both came out well

I've heard the dish washer trick works well, Gary @ Retro Motorsport suggested it to someone else months ago

i had ago with the petrol and it come up pretty well. i dnt think i would be aloud to put some stinking carbs in the dish washed
