Admin Mk2Jo Posted November 13, 2007 Admin Report Posted November 13, 2007 Okay, so I've put the mini on flea-bay. It has 6 days to run. I paid £360.00 for it but spent a few quid. I've had someone PM me (good rating) and offer £450.00 for it BUT I have 13 watchers on it .... Current bid is £50.00. Do I ..... a) Accept the £450.00 Let the auction run Help please
johnny_h Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 I'm sick of my bids being cancelled due to 'the item not being available any more'. If the geezer really wants it tell him you would like the auction to run it's course and stick his bid down as it is a fookin auction after all. That's just my ebay principles.
MK5 Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 i would accept the offer but leave the auction running until the cash has changed hands...
SmokeEm Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 i would accept the offer but leave the auction running until the cash has changed hands... . I agree. Take the offer but tell them collection must be within 48hrs & until they do, leave it running
Admin Vista Posted November 13, 2007 Admin Report Posted November 13, 2007 Leave the auction to run, it's a gamble but gambles can pay off. Tell him to stick his max bid of £450 on and if he's lucky he might get it cheaper.
4parajon Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 If he wants it tell him to come round with the money and when he's paid take it off e-bay. I always ask if there's a buy it now price, sometimes there is and sometimes there is'nt.....I only started doing it coz I kept losing out on auctions.....if you can't beat 'em as the saying goes

ALL4SHOW Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 as it says on your listing "advertised elsewhere" you can pull your listing anytime you want until the last 12hrs (or something like that) but the last few hours are when the bidding starts !!! i would contact the seller & give him 48hrs to sent a £100 deposit to end it for his offer or collect & pay in full in this time add this information to the bottom of the page that you may remove the item pending a deposit within the next 48 hrs but you will inform bidders if the deal has fell through & you intend to let it run to the end (or something along them lines ) dont take any notice of how many watchers you have as some of them could be off here, other sites you use or have advertised on or your sons mates i know im not the only one that has things on watch that i do not intend to bid on or buy i just like to see how much things go for these days so i have a bench mark to what to pay or sell stuff at
Tom Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 what do you want for it is the question. If someone came round now and put 450 quid in your hand would you be happy with it? don't hold off hoping you might get a tenner more

If someone came round now and put 450 quid in your hand would you be happy with it? don't hold off hoping you might get a tenner more exactly that £450 in ur hand is better than possably £500 after being messed with

Muttley MK2 Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 Whats the car likely to reach? If you think 450 would be a result then take it.
Cookie Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 Speaking from experience, especially where ebay is concerned, snap his hand off There are to many messer on there, plus if you sell it on there its gonna cost you again in final value fees. At the end of the day it's a good wedge more than you wanted so your in extra profit and as long as he comes and collects before the last 12 hours or pays you a good deposit ( on £450 I would want a min of £100) you get an easy straightfoward deal without anyone messing you around or coming and trying it on All that bollox on ads when people say will not sell off ebay to be fair etc etc etc is fine if you are there for the fun of it, but if you have something on there for sale its there to be sold not to have a good fun time. Money talks bullshit walks as they say, tell him to put his money where his mouth is and he got a deal, but don,t end auction or mention anything about it on ad until he pays up, I always tell people if you want it as long as it's payed for or deposit left before last 12 hours (as you can't cancel auction after then ) then you can have it, if not it stays on fleabay
antz Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 i had my suzuki up on ebay and it was at £50 with a reserve of £150. some guy offered me £150 but i said id have a talk with my dad about it and he said he would ring me back. never did... left it on ebay and got £220
Copey Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 when i got the capper i asked for a buy it now price, £750, and the idiot just let it run, went to near 1300 HAHA
Admin Mk2Jo Posted November 14, 2007 Author Admin Report Posted November 14, 2007 Well the guy hasn't come back to me yet so am not sure he wants it or not now The auction is still running with 24 watchers but like someone on here said that doesn't really mean anything. At the moment the auction will continue as it is. I don't want to mess anyone around (like Johnny said) cos I wouldn't want it done to me, however, I really do need the money
SmokeEm Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 You could always amend the auction & put up "1st £450 takes it" - As you have allowed paypal, that would allow people that are skint to shove it on their credit card
Admin Mk2Jo Posted November 14, 2007 Author Admin Report Posted November 14, 2007 And I've now got someone with a 0 bid history which worries me
Burns Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 delete his bid jo unless he contacts you
Admin Mk2Jo Posted November 14, 2007 Author Admin Report Posted November 14, 2007 How do I delete his bid
Cookie Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 How do I delete his bid write down the auction number (top right corner of page i think) and his user id, go to help option at top of page and type in cancel bid and it will take you straight there, just put in the details you wrote down and hey presto
