Apparently this is what the troops do on the aircraft carriers while they're standing around with nothing to do :sad::sad::sad: Have catapult, will fire :sad:

in fairness then they wernt rare, would be like troops now shooting off a 5 year old focus, still sad though

 

a focus would of melted b4 it got to the end of the deck :lol::lol::lol::lol:

How old is the photo Jo?

 

We don't have any carriers like that and haven't done for nearly 30 years, if it's a recent photo it's probably a US carrier and they're unlikely to have access to any OSF's (fortunately)

 

edit: it's definitely a US carrier, CVN 65, USS Enterprise.

She's been knocking around since 1960 so that could have been taken when OSF's were NSF's and ten a penny

:lol: I can't even begin to imagine. Put it this way, a steam catapult will accelerate a 30 ton aircraft from 0 to 160mph in 2.5 seconds! :shock:

 

Cant we all chip in for one of those for the POD.. :?

 

Would make things far more intresting :mrgreen:
